5.0 Very good food stops.

Micah_S, June 2026

Great stops across the city and David was a fun guide. We went to restaurants and drink stands and even a candy store.

5.0 David is amazing!

Jose_A, May 2026

David was fantastic, he was early and what out of his way to ensure I had a culturally grounded experience. We walked over 12k steps around Santiago and earned every bit of tasty food. David has a passion for his services, and speaks great English and Spanish. Highly recommended.

5.0 Must do food tour!

Karen_G, May 2026

This was a wonderful experience! We enjoyed each food stop especially the empanadas. Our guide David took incredible care of us.

5.0 Knowledgeable Gude and Delicious Food

Connie_N, May 2026

David was a super guide. Growing up in this area, he really gave us a behind-the-scenes look at various food places. He also helped us with a couple of minor personal things

Nicole_R, May 2026

Lovely time spent with David. We tried lots of different food, and it was our introduction to eating in the city. Even if you’re only in Santiago for one day I recommend this tour! In between restaurants we walked around the city center (so you get some culture with the tour as well!).

Mark_R, May 2026

This was a great experience. Could not be a better guide than David. He was very knowledgeable about all things related to Chile. Highly recommend this tour and working with David!

5.0 Great experience in Santiago.

skryan2023, May 2026

David was a fantastic guide who was very knowledgeable and entertaining. He tailored our tour around our preferences and his selection of food stops included fantastic seafood at the Central Market and a traditional Chilean savoury pie, as well as a pisco sour. The tour also showed us many parts of central Santiago, with opportunities to look inside some of the buildings and shops. Highly recommend his tour.

5.0 Great food and tour

David_W, April 2026

Food was authentic and tasty and guide very knowledgeable and energetic. Lots of great information, view points and conversation.

2.0 More of a city tour, than a food tour

Margaret_M, April 2026

As the title says, if this had been described as a walking city tour with food stops, this would have been a five star review. However, as described, this is not a food tour in my opinion. We tried 4 things in the 3 hours for which we paid £47 per person (April 2026) - empanada pino, Mote con huesillo (drink), a completo (hotdog) and a terremoto (drink). That said, our tour guide Maria was delightful and she gave us many insights into the city that we otherwise would not have known - she showed us sights and walked us through different areas and parks we would likely have not explored by ourselves. She also explained that the foods listed in the tour description are out of season which is fair but should have been communicated before we booked the tour. So this review is not a reflection on our guide who was great...but more on the description of what we paid for and expected vs. what we got.

5.0 Great Time

Megan_A, April 2026

This was a fantastic food tour. We were provided with clear meeting instructions ahead of time and any possible allergies were also discussed. The tour itself was informative about the area and local culture. The food is full portions, not small bites. Be prepared for this as it is all delicious and easy to get full. I would do this tour again!

Chrissy_M, April 2026

Fun food tour and intro to Santiago! Our tour guide was great and answered all of our crazy questions! We learned about coffee with legs and had a Chilean hot dog.

5.0 Way Beyond a Food Tour...

MKS2645, April 2026

This Street Food Tour with David Herrerra was an unanticipated highlight of our time in Santiago. On weekdays, David's food tour includes the most accessible markets of the central city like La Vega Central. However, if your trip allows a weekend tour, David will take you to the famous Persa Bio Bio Flea Market located on the outskirts of the city center. David met us at our hotel in Providencia, herded us through the metro subway system to Bio Bio, and then guided us through the bustling maze that has to be one of the most authentic examples of Chilean everyday life. On offer is everything you can imagine from the fine art of Alejandro Gonzales to antiques, old books, clothes, tools, pirated DVDs, and all sorts of odds and ends in an impressive array of blankets and tables. All this punctuated by authentic Chilean street food as we wound our way through colorful warehouses and alleyways. At each stop, we sampled iconic Chilean cuisine - empanadas, mote con huesillo, huge classic sandwiches from El Pobre Guido, and artisan gelato flavored with calafate berries and lucuma. For some reason, we didn't feel the need to eat again that day. Flea markets can be notoriously dicey tourist traps, but David made this experience safe and non-threatening. At the end of the tour, he even delivered us to our next activity back across town, again through the subway and across the river to Bellavista. Above and beyond. And he didn't lose one of us. Fun, entertaining, unique, delicious, superlative, unforgettable.

4.0 Fun Tour

Britni_H, April 2026

Decent food tour! There were a total of 4 people on the tour and the guide was very knowledgeable and friendly. We stopped a total of 4 places, trying 4 items. We appreciated that the guide pivoted our tour when it began to rain quite heavily. This food tour however, was a bit different than other tours we have done in the past since we got a small number of rather large food items. On our tour we tried: - a beverage from a street vendor of sweet tea with cooked wheat and dried peaches (very tasty!) - a hot dog (massive!) - an empanada (quite large!) - a piscola (it had begun raining so many of the food shops had closed and everybody was quite full from the large food items) I would have preferred to have smaller portions of the items (other tours I have been on a single item might be purchased and cut into smaller pieces for trying) and tried more items, but it was still an enjoyable tour.

2.0 Not worth the money

Brian_A, April 2026

The guide didn't teach us much about the history of Chilean food. We spent about a third of the time touring churches and landmarks.

Response from Host, April 2026

Hi Brian, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback with us. We are sincerely sorry that the tour did not provide the level of insight you were expecting. Guydeez is about creating happy memories and because of this, we have already contacted you via your email directly to follow up. 5.0 Great food tour

Janina_Y, April 2026

Really enjoyed this experience! David was a great and funny guide and we learned a lot about Chilean food and Santiago. Plenty of food included, we couldn't even finish it all! All food was very tasty and the tour was customised to our likes. Perfect Monday activity when a lot of the tourist atttactions are closed!

5.0 Above average tour

Gary_P, April 2026

I had a good time with this tour, the guide was funny , entertaining, comical, and very knowledgeable about his city. I especially would recommend this tour. It is very simple and quick way of getting a grasp of the city, eating some traditional food, having. A drink.

5.0 Great food tour with David.

Krishan_M, April 2026

Brilliant food tour with David. He was fantastic and showed us both food places and took us around the main sites in Santiago. Highly recommend.

5.0 Immersive experience learning about Santiago, Chile and Chilean food while sampling the food

MaryAnn_P, March 2026

David was a fabulous guide with a wealth of local knowledge. He was friendly and took joy in sharing the history and background of the foods we tried. This is a great tour for people who want an authentic Santiago experience with food, history and a native Chilean guide who spoke English well.

5.0 Tour guide is the highlight here

5.0 Just What We Needed!

Molly_P, March 2026

This was exactly what we needed after an overnight flight. Maycken served as a translator, tour guide, and all around nice guy to spend an afternoon with. He paid close attention to what we were interested and kept the day flexible and fun.

5.0 Fun way to spend an afternoon getting oriented to Santiago! Come hungry!

Anne_S, March 2026

We really enjoyed our food tour with David. Great guide!! He even met us at our hotel to ensure we could start the tour with ease. He took us to spots we wouldn’t find otherwise and shared helpful information about the city (and subway!). We finished the tour with full stomachs!

5.0 Delicious and filling tour with David

Kyle_M, March 2026

David our guide blended a deep knowledge of Chilean history with knowledge of Santiago and great, safe, hole in the wall restaurants to sample Santiago staple foods.

Great introduction to the major places and foods of Chile. Luciano was great- kind and informative! Would recommend!

5.0 Taste some great local street food selected by a local.

Peter_B, February 2026

Arrive hungry. You walk through many of the sights of central Santiago and sample several local dishes, tailored to your personal preferences. Food you may never find on your own. Highly Recommended

1.0 Do not book

Robyn_N, February 2026

Do not book this tour. I am not even sure where the 5 star reviews came from/ It was incredibly unorganized. First of all they shouldn’t even allow you to book on a Sunday because apparently everything is closed on Sunday’s ? Also it felt like there was no plan. The guide was decided where to go on the spot- no connections to any local places, no history of the food or history of the city. Normally on a food tour you get samples (everyone gets their own) even if they are smaller in size. The guides suggested we share which is crazy to share a beverage with a stranger? One of the guides even took a sip from my sister in laws drink (she asked but still so strange). We walked through the most disgusting parts of the city which is probably why we had a second guide with us for safety. It was daylight and Santiago is pretty safe why were we walking through random streets. Additionally the guide continued to lie to us. She asked us to share our drinks with other guests on the tour saying we would get too drunk but finally after we followed up several times she said it was because of budget constraints. If that’s the case we shouldn’t have made the stop. It’s not just the guides fault rather it’s the company for not creating any sort of itinerary for our guide. In short, don’t book and waste your time or money.

Response from Host, February 2026

Hi Robyn, Thank you for taking the time to share this detailed feedback with us. We are sincerely sorry that your food tour experience did not meet your expectations. This is certainly not the level of organization, professionalism, or experience we aim to provide, and we truly regret the disappointment and frustration this caused you. Guydeez is about creating happy memories and because of this, we have already contacted you via your email directly to follow up and better understand what happened. Once again, our apologies for this inconvenience, and we truly hope you will consider giving us a second chance in the future. Warm wishes, Guydeez Team

5.0 Your guide to the Santiago food scene!

travel47MMiler, February 2026

David did a wonderful job guiding us through the ins and outs of the Santiago food scene. The focus was on authentic Chilean food, culture, and history, and it was fascinating to hear the stories behind each dish while tasting such delicious local specialties. David knew the staff at every stop, which made the service smooth and added a personal touch to the experience. Food allergies were handled thoughtfully and without any issues. Along the way, he shared engaging explanations, personal anecdotes, and insights about the statues, buildings, and history we passed. We loved the authenticity of the tour and came away with a much better understanding of what Chilean families eat and how they celebrate holidays through food. What fun — thank you, David!

5.0 Welcome to Santiago’s colorful cuisine

H4699STmattb, February 2026

What a fun way to see the city and experience the local culture! Delicious local dishes, historical details and memorable once-in-a lifetime stories. Our guide Luc was both informative and interesting. We could not recommend this more.

5.0 Very flexible with food...

Nancy_P, February 2026

Very flexible with food choices. A slow paced walk that included seeing some of Santiago's parks and monuments. Our guide was knowledgeable and friendly.

5.0 Come hungry

55BH, February 2026

Our guide David was very knowledgeable about Chilean cuisine and history. Walking us through the downtown area sampling a number of local favorites.

5.0 Make sure you’re hungry! Great local flavours.

Richard_B, February 2026

If you want to try local food, this is the tour for you … and there is plenty of it! Nothing fancy, just what the average Santiago Chilean eats. Plus, our excellent tour guide, David, threw in some local history and culture as we walked around. David answered all of our questions happily, expanding on them to give us more information and context. We would definitely recommend this tour!

5.0 Authentic, fun and tasty

chris_o, February 2026

Great day out on our tour - guide was authentic and helpful with our questions. A variety of unique dishes sampled.

5.0 Fun tour

Jerry_P, February 2026

5.0 Excellent

Enjoyable tour with David. Communication was great, excellent food choices to suit our preferences and a fantastic way to orientate to the central city with a friendly guide.

5.0 Last minute plot twist…

Cheryl_C, February 2026

We had one day in Santiago and booked the Food Tour in advance. The day before the tour, Carolina changed the meeting time, then 25 minutes before meeting she canceled saying she was sick. The Tours operator Alex was able to find us a last minute Guide, who was able to meet us two hours later. Maria was amazing, giving personal and cultural information along with information and history on the food and neighborhoods. We cannot give an accurate rating for the food because several other places on the regular tour were already closed and she also wanted to keep us in safer neighborhoods. We especially enjoyed the empanadas and traditional peach drink. We had great fun eating the Completo Italiano. Thank you again, Maria!!

5.0 Great foodie experience

Ron L, January 2026

Our guide David offered to meet us at our apartment and then start the tour. He was extremely knowledgeable of the local history and the foods. We stopped at multiple cafes/restaurants during the tour where we sampled many things. He also spoke very good english. I highly recommend this tour.

5.0 Grea introduction to Santiago -- food and culture

Elaine_R, January 2026

We had great food. We learned about pastel de choclo. David was really responsive to what we wanted. When we weren't able to eat any more food, he took us to find lapis jewelry.

5.0 Food Tour

H3587YQtoms, January 2026

Luciano was great, very personable and pleasant. We wanted authentic street food so he took us to the “local” spots, we loved it. He’s flexible and will take you where you want to go.

wryetwo, January 2026

Really enjoyed our time with David, he was personable and knowledgeable and took us to eat some great Chilean food. Loved getting on subway to get a better feel for the City and going to BaoBao. Highly recommend David and the tour, we left very full and content!

5.0 This street food tour in...

Nicole_K, January 2026

This street food tour in Santiago was great. From the first stop to the last bite, everything was delicious, authentic, and thoughtfully curated. Our guide was fantastic—knowledgeable, friendly, and clearly passionate about Chilean food and culture. We tasted a great variety of local specialties while learning the stories behind them, from traditional favorites to unexpected hidden gems we never would have found on our own. The tour felt relaxed, fun, and very well paced, with just the right mix of food, history, and local insight. If you want to experience Santiago like a local and eat incredibly well while doing it, this tour is a must. Come hungry—you won’t leave disappointed!

5.0 David is unbelievable! ...

Rebecca_S, January 2026

David is unbelievable! He took into account what we wanted to see, eat, drink, and do! He made sure we had a fabulous time. I highly recommend this tour-and ask for David!

5.0 Awesome!!

Michael_F, January 2026

Caroline is an incredible guide, full of knowledge, context, and history. This was more like a cultural immersion through the lens of Chilean gastronomy. But don't think it's so serious! It was fun and fascinating, too!!

5.0 Good Food Tour on the Streets of Santiago

paulbZ7067TJ, January 2026

We had a very good experience touring the streets of Santiago with David. David was friendly, informative, and attentive to what we wanted to see and do! The food on the tour was very tasty, and there were generous portions. Make sure you start the tour on an empty stomach!

5.0 A nice way to learn about the city!

Craig_K, December 2025

A great time with Caroline, learned a lot about the city during our time! A very nice walk around, a great way to see part of the beautiful city.

5.0 Chilean Warmth & Hospitality

Sandy M, December 2025

David was friendly, fun and accommodating. We managed to do a private tour on Christmas Eve. It was a challenge because the locals were rushing to get home to be with their families and most shops and restaurants had limited hours due to the holidays. We were impressed with David’s ability to keep a positive attitude and juggle all the unforeseen situations. He successfully managed to show us a great time, introduced us to Chilean favorite street foods and gave us a dose of their beautiful culture and town.❤️🥰🇨🇱
