We booked a 4 1/2 hour tour with pick up at our hotel. What transpired was closer to a 7 hour tour with our wonderful guide Fernando. He was well versed in all things Santiago, and not only took us to the main sights but also some out of the way gems! The communication ahead of time via WhatsApp was invaluable. We had a fantastic tour conducted by Fernando today. Collected at specified time at our hotel and vehicle used was perfect for our tour. Fernando initially took us around various neighbourhoods, explaining all information along the way, using excellent English. Our first main stop was at Bicentenario Parque where we saw black neck swans and enjoyed a pleasant stroll around. Thereafter we travelled to Metropolitan Parque of San Cristobal Hill where we used the cable car to the top station and walked to the imposing Virgin De La Immaculada Concepcion statue. Amazing views of the whole of Santiago. Next stop was the historic center where we initially visited an interesting coffee shop ( Coffee with Legs !) Coffee was very good and not something we have ever seen in UK. Afterwards we visited all of the historic sites on foot. Fernando provided a wonderful commentary, providing lots of information and highlighting lots of Chile's history and important figures and characters. At the conclusion of the tour we were dropped off back at out hotel. Fernando was superb. His knowledge and enthusiasm of the country's history and important figures was amazing. An absolutely brilliant tour conducted by Fernando. Thank you all !

We were driven through some so called high end neighborhood, why? I am a tourist and couldn’t care less about where the nicest houses are. Went to a park to look at swans with black heads, waste of time. Rode the cable car to the top, was crowded beyond belief!! And why wouldn’t you include the ticket for this in the tour price, instead of making us wait in line and buy our own tickets?? Did go downtown to see the capital building, Presidents home etc… interesting. The guide had little to know facts while riding in the hot van. Would not suggest this tour.

Our very first day in Chile was a warm and beautiful day and Fernando made it a special memorable day. He came on time in a nice vehicle we were informed earlier by WhatsApp message promptly. Before laying out the plan for the day Fernando opened a beautiful long map of Chile and gave us the geography, history and cultural information of the city. We and the other guest were so impressed we wanted to experience more of the country. Because of the time of the year we had a long wait at the gondola but thanks to Fernando he kept us informed and amused by telling many things. We highly recommend this tour.

There apparently was a substitute guide as we were not taken by Eugene or his colleague who were highly rated. Basically he took us to a lovely park and Centro BUT did not take us to most of the listed places on the itinerary. We went to a very touristic lapis store with heavy pressure to buy touristy items and also a fast food, terrible restaurant, rather than an authentic one, as advertised. I was extremely disappointed and waste of time on my first day in Santiago . I wrote Eugene to let him know of my experience and I did not receive a response. I had an amazing tour today with a different company of Valparaiso and they kindly made up for all that I missed on the city tour and not only took me to the places listed on the itinerary that we were not taken to other fabulous sites, as well. This was not a city tour, but literally a tour of Centra only. Very deceiving. Strongly don’t recommend.

Our Guide Evelyn was just super. Informed and helpful in scheduling tour. She was even nicer in person. She gave us a good feel for the history of the city, current developments and things to do. In addition, she was just fun. Remember Santiago is very large--8 million people. Its history really started changing with return to democracy in 1990s. It is not your normal colonial influenced city. Great recommendations on food and drinks as well.

Wonderful overview of Santiago! We wanted to see as much as we could, with some evening time to ourselves, and this for the bill. Our driver, Juan, was excellent; really knowledgeable and able to answer all questions about history and all the sights. He arrived to pick us up promptly as scheduled. We went to St. Lucia Hill, then down to the square (City Center). We stopped at a lapis lazuli house with an opportunity to buy jewelry and carved figurines (Juan then took the other two couples back to their hotel as they were tired from an overnight flight), then went to ride the cable car up to San Cristobal Hill. The views were incredible, and we had some time to spend in the tiny chapel beneath the statue of Santa Maria. Highly recommend this if your time is limited but you still want to see Santiago.

Great experience overall with Eugene! He messaged us before the tour to confirm details and then picked us up promptly at the designated location. He had a route planned for the entire tour but was more than flexible for any additions or changes we requested. For example, he let me buy some unique souvenirs a bit off the beaten path and led us to a location with specific food items such as completos at our request. Would recommend to anyone who wants a great overview and tour of the city.

The tour guide contacted me the day before the tour to find out if he could start the tour 2 hours earlier than what was advertised. Unfortunately we could not because we were getting in to Santiago with enough time to get to the hotel, freshen up before the start of the tour. He showed up to the airbnb early anyway and was expecting us to be ready and of course we were not. He then tried to convince us tk reschedule the tour because "you all are probably tired". We were not and couldn't reschedule because we had tours planned for the rest of our days in Santiago. The tour was supposed to last 5 hours and we were done in 2.5 hours. He took us to see the Mary Immaculate statue (we paid for our lift tickets). He then drove to a parking garage in the city where we walked by the court house and another building that was rebuilt after a fire. We then went to a square with a cathedral and that was the end of the tour. Very little information about the city and it flet like he had somewhere else to be. This tour should be removed from the tours offered by Viator. This is not the only review that talks about him providing poor service and when you have limited time in a city, you just can't risk having a bad tour. This man is a scam and a hustler and should be avoided at all cost. I am well traveled and use Viator to book tours so I know what to expect.

And the tour for the day was magnificent. I explored different sites and captured fabulous photos and moments, and it wouldn't have been possible without Eugene.
