Uncivil Wards History Tour

Presented by Preview World

From £19.00

Richmond's role as the Capitol of the Confederacy during the Civil War brought more than just legislators to the city's doorstep. The many battles that occurred across the state and beyond resulted in a vast number of prisoners and wounded soldiers that needed a place to go. Many of these individuals found themselves in Richmond, particularly the Shockoe Bottom neighborhood where this tour takes place. This tour will take you to some of the notable sites in the neighborhood, and will also share with you the stories of some of the people with connections to these buildings.

5.0 Our 3rd Tour with RVA HH! And more to come!

KimR213, October 2023

We are a group of local friends who have embarked on taking tours and seeing the sites in and around RVA. This is the 3rd tour we've down with Hidden History. We've done Rail & Sails, a Haunted History tour and just did Richmond's Revolutionary Spirit. We largely thought we knew our stuff locally but we have learned a lot on each tour. We'll be back soon to do Uncivil Wards and more haunted tours. And they have more tours in the making so we'll be seeing them for years to come. Super nice people to work with. Thanks Chris & Beth!

5.0 Rails and Sails

Julie H, September 2020

We went on the Rails and Sails Tour and had a fantastic tour. Chris and Beth were great to work with in planning our private tour. They were so knowledgeable about the city of Richmond and answered all of our many questions as well.
