We had an incredible time on this Roatan Island tour. Our driver, Derrick, was outstanding—friendly, knowledgeable, and full of fascinating insight about the island. He went beyond the typical tourist information and gave us a genuine look at what life is really like for locals in Roatan. His passion for the island and its culture made the experience much more meaningful. One of the highlights was traveling through the beautiful mangrove tunnels with Captain Alex aboard the No Worries. It was a relaxing and unique experience, and Captain Alex did a great job sharing information about the area. The food stop was excellent, and I highly recommend trying the watermelon juice—it was absolutely delicious and refreshing. The tour ended at Daniel Johnson's Monkey and Sloth Hangout, which was unforgettable. We got to interact with playful capuchin monkeys, hold beautiful macaws, and feed hibiscus flowers to the sloths. Feeding the sloths was definitely the highlight of the day! This tour offers a perfect mix of local culture, nature, wildlife, and great food. I would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Roatan. And if you're lucky enough to have Derrick as your driver, you're in for a fantastic experience!

This was a beautiful tour of the town and the mangrove tunnel! We had a great time! All the people we met were very friendly and informative. Shem was our driver and went out of his way to assure we were comfortable and enjoying the day. He gave a wonderful tour of the island and made a couple extra stops for us. When we come back we will be sure to book with Shem again! Thanks for the wonderful time!

Great trip. Cedric was our driver for the day. He was very knowledgeable, spoke excellent English and was a pleasure to spend time with. We visited the Mango tunnels first which was an exceptional boat ride. Such a beautiful place to be. We then went for our lunch with drinks at Happy s restaurant. Happy was lovely, as all the inhabitants. We had rice and peas, salad, fried shrimp, fried chicken strips, bbq chicken and fried banana. Very nice. We then went to the Sloth and monkey sanctuary. Wasn’t particularly bothered to go to be fair, but what a great time we had there. If you want a value for money tour then this is the one. Great for adults and children.

A great historical and cultural tour. We learned much about the island. Saw the beauty. Captain Alex was great shoeing us the mangrove tunnel. And Sheem our personal guide made our experience wonderful. A stop at mom’s kitchen (Happy is her name) where we tasted her family style , fresh cooked meal which was delicious. I felt I was eating with family and enjoying a delicious meal. Thank you Shem and Happy for a wonderful and memorable day.

Local, our driver, was very nice and he drove us around explains where things are on the island. The mangrove tour was interesting. The food tasting was just ok as we were served a lot of fried food which isn’t our thing. I think offering healthier choices would have been better. Happy, the cook, was very warm and friendly though. The monkey, sloth, parrot/macaw visit was fun but the guide had little control over the naughty monkeys who landed all over us. Kind fun but we got dirty and had hair pulled. He was a friendly guide who answered all our questions. They take good care of their animals, especially the sloths.

Our guide, Harley picked us up from the Coxen Hole port since we arrived on a Norwegian ship. Once we arrived at the pick-up point where there were plenty of other tour operators with signs, he pulled the van around and we started our tour. It took about 45 minutes to get to our first stop, the Mangroves. We boarded a boat that took us near the reef. The water was clear as we observed the beautiful landscape of houses on hills and waterfront properties. We entered the mangroves and took plenty of pictures and videos before heading back. From there we went to a garrifuna village along the water. We enjoyed talking to an elder and hearing about history and culture. It was there that we shopped at the local souvenir shops and watched a music and dance performance. After that, we went to lunch for a great treat. Being allergic to shellfish, the shared delicious meal was catered to us. The cook was very kind and welcoming. After lunch, we went to the monkey, sloth, bird sanctuary. This was great because the monkeys were active as the guide to our group into their environment where they jumped on us (fun!) and chased each other around. This was my daughter’s favorite part of the whole tour We then heard back to the port before we headed to our next port.

My wife, father-in-law, and I went on this excursion yesterday and it was a great time! We were a bit anxious trying to find the pick-up point, which is just outside of the port area, but locals helped to point us in the right direction and we did not feel unsafe. Our guide, Sheem, was very good at his job and we appreciated how he navigated some challenging road pot holes! The mangroves were beautiful!! We had monkeys climbing all over us, got to shake hands with a sloth, and held parrots too! Once in a lifetime experience, highly recommend!

The ride on the boat to visit the tunnels was good. Our driver Derrick was super amazing. He was patient and friendly. We were running late for our next tour because of cruise ship traffic but he still managed to get us there with 1 minute to spare. The food tour was a good way to sample different types of dishes.

Shem was an amazing tour guide. He took us to see things a normal tour operator wouldn’t. My friend started feeling ill in the trip and he was so careful to make sure that the ride was as smooth as possible for her. The mangroves and views were breathtaking and the tasting was a delicious way to experience local cuisine. We were very impressed with the entire experience!

Try to book early in the day to avoid traffic. We were coming from the west side, Kimpton Grand to be exact, and it took us over an hour to reach the meeting point after leaving around 2 p.m. Luckily, it was a scenic ride. The traffic was brutal, so plan ahead if you’re coming from that direction. Our tour guide, Deri, was very friendly, patient, and knowledgeable. He was happy to stop at different sites along the way, which made the drive more enjoyable. He was also very talkative and shared a lot of interesting facts about the island, which we appreciated. We really enjoyed seeing the mangroves—it was beautiful and peaceful. However, we were a little uneasy about the boat itself. It wasn’t very modern or well-equipped, and as non-swimmers, we were especially concerned that life vests weren’t offered. That definitely made the boat ride more nerve-wracking than it needed to be. As for the food tasting, it was a bit disappointing. We stopped at what turned out to be the guide’s home/restaurant. There were quite a few flies, although a fan was provided. The meal consisted of a platter with jerk chicken, shrimp, and rice and peas. It wasn’t really a “tasting”—just a single plate to eat from—and unfortunately, the food was cold by the time we ate. It was tasty, but had it been hot, I’m sure our eating would be more than a 6/10. All that said, we still had a good time overall. It felt like we had a personal chauffeur for a few hours, which made the price feel fair.

This is the tour to choose! You will get some of everything Roatan has to offer. The food is delicious cooked by a lady named Happy. The mangrove tour is awesome. We loved it so much we did it twice. Kembron was our tour guide. He was very informative and professional. The captain of our boat was Alex. His boats name is Trust Me. You can absolutely trust him for a discovery channel experience.

3.0 Tunnels worth it, the rest not so much

The boat ride through the mangrove tunnels were amazing. But we were expecting more of a cultural experience and learning more about the Garifuna village and way of living -- the tour did not really cover that other than to point out some houses to us as places where locals live. Also, the food was tasty but the vibe and atmosphere was lacking and there was no information given about the food, its preparation or anything else -- a plate of food was just shoved in front of us after we sat around waiting and wondering and then we were left to make what we could of it.

Loved this tour. Our driver Shem was the best. He was so patient with us and allowed us to stop wherever we wanted. We did think that we would spend more time in Punta Gorda but once we found out we were just passing through Shem allowed us to get out and explore. He made sure that all our needs were met and answered any questions we had. He was knowledgeable and also talked to us about history and the different areas of Roatan. He was friendly and funny and made our experience the best. I would recommend this tour! Oh, and the food was soo good!

Benson was amazing and HILARIOUS. We had a great time just driving through the island to each spot. We enjoyed all the activities even with the rain. Benson picked us up from our hotel. We were staying at Ibagai. The mangroves were beautiful and the Captain Alex helped us get great videos. During the wildlife encounter we interacted with a sloth, monkeys, and parrots. The food we had was tasty. We did our tour on a Monday but I think the best time to experience the Garifuna village is on a Sunday. Benson also gave us an extra stop to a souvenir shop. Overall I would highly recommend this experience and Benson to be the tour guide.

My wife and I came to Roatan to celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary. We didn't rent a car and wanted to see the east side of the island and the mangroves. This was a perfect tour for us. Derek was our driver and he picked us up from our hotel in his car. Just the 3 of us. There was a mix up about pick up location that was our fault, not Derek's, so we started a little late. This was no problem for Derek and he was in no rush. We first drove to Oakridge to do the mangrove tour. On the way Derek told us about the history of the island and the the differences between the sides of the island. This is the tour if you want to see almost all of Roatan. We got to Oakridge early for our mangrove tour so Derek drove us through the narrow streets and gave us a little extra tour of this amazing town. Once we got to the boat part of the tour we met up with Captain Alex. He is a character! We loved that we had the whole boat to ourselves. Captain Alex did a few extra things on the tour like allowing me to stand up on the boat and take a video as we cruised through one of the mangrove paths. He also took pictures of us and the mangroves with my phone. Such a cool experience and beautiful place. We then drove through Punta Gorda. This is the historic small town of the Garifuna people on the island. Derek gave us the history of the town and showed us a few of the old mud/clay buildings that still exist in the community. Very cool. Finally, we finished up for lunch. I had whole fish and my wife had chicken wings. The restaurant had a limited menu but is was good. We had the whole place to ourselves. On the way back Derek asked if we wanted to go anywhere else. Do some shopping, take some pictures, anything? We aren't really shoppers so we did a few pull out spots for pictures but then we were ready to hit the beach back at our place. Overall, a wonderful tour. I highly recommend it for people who want to see the mangroves, learn island history, and see almost all the island without having to rent a car and drive. Shout out to Derek and Captain Alex for making our tour one we will never forget!

Whitney was our guide and did a fantastic job. He really cares and goes out of his way to make sure everybody has a great experience. He is also a very contentious driver - safe and considerate - this goes a LONG WAY with us!! We did the boat tour through the fishing village and mangrove canals, then to see the sloths and monkeys, then a great lunch on a hill overlooking the bay.

Our driver-guide was super kind and friendly and explains us everything to know about Roatan.Everytime we asked him to stop the car for photo's he was very willing to do it. We loved this guy!! We had an enjoyable tour and a great day with Kambron our tour guide. The highlights for us were the Mangrove tunnel tour with Captain Alex and the visit of the Sloth's and Monkey park.
