5.0 Beautiful Day Snorkeling and Mangroves! Amazing Tour Guides!

431sagef, June 2026

When we came to Roatan, we really wanted to see the mangroves, and I am so glad we went with these tour guides. After an incredible experience night snorkeling with them a few days before, we were so happy to see that they offered a mangrove tour! Our boat captain lived right in Jonesville (where the mangroves are) and was able to provide such unique insights on the history of the mangroves and how they support the community. The day snorkeling was also incredible! After snorkeling on our own in West Bay and West End, we weren't sure about how different day snorkeling in French Key would be, but it was literally like snorkeling in an aquarium! It was by far the most beautiful location we had snorkeled in all week. Our guides were so accommodating, kind, insightful, and fun; I am so glad they were part of our Roatan experience!

5.0 Top Notch Tour

Andrea_R, May 2026

We had a great tour with Jacob. He took us to tour the mangroves and snorkeling. We had a wonderful time with him and every guide/boat driver along the way. He stopped at Macaw Market to let us visit the chocolate factory and get coffee at West Pickers Coffee Roasters. 10/10 experience. Highly recommend.

5.0 Great trip!!!

ALISSA_J, April 2026

We booked this trip when sailing the Allure of the Seas. This was just our family of 4. Pick up at port was easy. Jacob was our driver for the day. He was fun and friendly!! If you can request a driver Jacob is definitely the guy we'd want again. The mangroves were beautiful and our boat guide was friendly. After mangroves we wentbsnokling. The reef was absolutely gorgeous. Our captain and snokling leader were great. We had time after that Jacob took us for some delicious conch and than stopped for chocolate and coffee.

5.0 Must Book Tour!

Jennifer_P, February 2026

This tour was a fantastic introduction to Honduras. Jacob was an engaging and accommodating tour guide who made sure to point out the iconic landmarks and provided fun facts about the local area. If there is extra time, they are even willing to take you to the nearby sloth and monkey sanctuary. We can’t wait to plan our next trip back.

4.0 Quite a lot of time driving on the island rather than doing the activities but worth doing once you get there.

Caroline_P, January 2026

This is a good tour for exploring the island of Roatan. We booked it from our cruise ship and the pick up and arrival arrangements were excellent, as was our driver and guide Alan (call me Al). It is chaos as you get off the ship and go out into the town but ignore all offers, look for the sign and you'll see it amongst lots of other tours. If you haven't been to a mangrove river before that will be interesting but note it takes almost an hour to drive there and then another 30 minutes to drive onwards to the snorkling. The snorkling was great if you love that but if you are a bit nervous or not experienced with snorkling, be aware they take you into the ocean and then you have to get off the back off the boat into reasonably choppy and dark waters. The boat guides are excellent, give you clear instructions and are in the water with you throughout. They steer you along the route, pointing out interesting things to see. We saw some pretty coloured fish and a giant crab. From there its a 15 minute drive back to the port. It was cheaper than the cruise ship tours and we usually find them better value.

The mangroves are beautiful! The ride on the dori was fun and our guide was fantastic. Unfortunately the trip is only about 30 minutes. It's a long ride to Jonesville, and the snorkeling and mangroves are not in the same location so there is a lot of time on the road.

5.0 Excellent trip

NAVON_H, November 2025

The trip was fun, we had a great time. The combination of the canals and the snorkeling was perfect.

5.0 Great experience!!

Christina_H, October 2025

This was an awesome experience from start to finish. The people who run this operation are polite and very knowledgeable about the island. The hospitality was top notch!! I would definitely recommend them for anyone looking for a fun and relaxing day in Roatan. We thoroughly enjoyed our day.

Ginger_L, July 2025

The drive to the mangroves was a little far from our hotel, but our driver, Phillip, more than made up for the length of time it took to get to the mangroves with descriptions of what we were passing by and the history. The mangroves were stunning and the snorkeling in French Cay was amazing as well.

5.0 The BEST tour we’ve been on cruising

Caoimhe_O, April 2025

AMAZING 5 star customer experience. It was a private tour essentially as we were the only ones booked at that time. We met easily enough with our guide (be careful of local time vrs ship time for your booking however!! We were an hour ahead keeping on ship time; but we were accommodated to start the tour straight away which was amazing). DJ our driver was a lovely young man. The snorkelling was OUT of this world - the clearest view and amazing coral reef and fish to see. We’ve done snorkelling in Mexico too but this was even better. Can’t recommend this tour enough - deserves more business and reviews for sure!! Don’t hesitate, we can’t say enough good things about this tour.

5.0 Awesome Snorkel Location and Insightful Mangrove Tour

T4381MRnoahb, March 2025

I had an awesome time with Roatán Getaway Tours. Transportation service was great. I went on the snorkeling tour and also did their mangrove tunnel tour, and both experiences were a blast. The snorkeling was super cool – the water was crystal clear and the coral and sea life were incredible. I saw all sorts of colorful fish. You’ll get to experience being in your own little underwater world!

5.0 Best Day Ever!

Johnn_K, January 2025

Pick up was very easy! We met our guide for the day, DJ. He was so much fun and we really enjoyed his company. We had the best day ever! Enjoyed the mangroves tunnel boat tour, the snorkeling was amazing! Saw so many beautiful fish, starfish, lobsters, conchs and learned lots about the local wildlife. DJ took us to a Sloth & Monkey place that was on the way back from the snorkel spot. It was the best way to spend the day in Roatan and we can’t wait to go back! 10/10 Highly recommend!

5.0 A lovely day!

caroline_m, October 2024

This was a great day In Roatán. We met up with our guide Phillip outside the Coxen Hole cruise port with no issues. My friend and I ended up being the only people on the tour that day, so it was a de facto private tour. In fact, we didn't see a single other tourist on the East Side the entire time (with the exception of a beach club we sailed past with a bunch of expat gringos playing volleyball.) Despite traveling by cruise ship I'm all about getting away from the crowds, so that was cool. He drove us through small communities and countryside, and told us a little about the local history and culture. Once we arrived at the dock in Jonesville, we got into Dewey's boat (apologies if I'm misspelling anyone's names!) Dewey was a friendly guy who's lived right there on the water his whole life, and told us he also has a tour company called Get Salty. He said he and Phillip exchange guests on vans and boats with each other all the time. He took us through the mangrove tunnels and around the coast, which was extremely scenic. It poured rain for about 15 minutes that morning, but my friend and I were prepared with ponchos and phone pouches so it was just part of the adventure. We then met up with Phillip again who drove us to the snorkeling launch area, where there were changing rooms and restrooms before we got on another larger boat. The snorkeling, which we did with our next guide Marlon, was awesome. There were lots of corals and colorful fish, including some beautiful schools, and even a sea snake. The water was neither cold nor warm, if you know what I mean. Then we met up with Phillip again for the drop off. He was nice enough to stop at a local farmacia for us on the way back, which was much cheaper than en los Estados Unidos. I'm happy I chose this tour for our time in Roatán. My only regret is that we didn't have all day to spend on and in the water!
