5.0 Perfect day with a private local guide

First things first, I took this tour from Coxen Hole, not Mahogany Bay. As soon as you step out of the cruise port there is a crowd of potential guides offering their services. I was still quickly able to find someone holding a "Roatan Getaway Tours" sign and within a minute led, by Monique, our guide for the day to her car where she quickly got us away from the crowd and took us to the zip line. She checked us in and within just a few more minutes we were outfitted with harnesses and driven up the hill to begin the course down. We had a blast and could even see the cruise ship from the top of the course. As soon as we got done, Monique was right there again to take just the two of us across the island to have an experience with the sloths and monkeys. It was great as well. Real up-close and personal with the animals. Once we finished with that, Monique gave us a short drive to the dock where we went on a snorkel boat with just 3 other people. I've been on so many snorkel tours that felt like we were just one in the herd. We had an amazing time viewing the diverse coral and fish and clear water. We both thought it was probably the best snorkel trip we'd ever done. After that we were offered to be taken back to the dock or dropped for an hour at a beach on a small island on the reef. We wish our cruise line had given more time in port for us to enjoy it and it was 100% our choice to skip the beach and head back to port so we weren't rushed getting back aboard the cruise. Throughout the day, we were given perfect service that made being in a new foreign place a delight and was super simple. Monique just took care of all the details for us. I would book with this provider any other time I am back in Roatan 10/10. 5 stars. Couldn't do better!!!

This was a great tour! Our driver was just for the 2 of us. Ziplining was so much fun. The crew there did a great job. After ziplining we drove to see the sloths and monkeys. They were so much fun! We paid an extra $10 each for them to take all the pictures and for the 2 of us, there were over 400 pictures! Once we were done there we were taken to the last stop where we boarded a boat for snorkeling. We were then dropped back off at the cruise port with plenty of time to do for shopping before heading back to the ship. I would highly recommend this tour. It was a great way to see the best of Roatan in a day.

This was such a fun tour at a really affordable price!! We met Jacob at the port and he was amazing the entire day! He is very personable and knowledgeable about the area. It was just him and the 4 of us as we moved from ziplining, to the monkey/sloth/macaw sanctuary, to snorkeling. All of those activities were super fun! Then we ended with a nice lunch at a local restaurant. Jacob entertained us the whole time and even let the two 18-year-olds in our group control his music in the car. He sang and danced along with us! The whole day was a blast and I highly recommend this family company!!!!!

This is one of the only companies that would do a solo tour for me and it was the best of the whole trip. The snorkeling and zip line were top notch! I didn’t know about the animals so that was a cool surprise for me! Kate my Tour Guide was awesome she was so friendly and nice! I really enjoyed my day!

Was the best private tour we ever had. We had nick and he was a local and knew everthing around the area and the zip likes was amazing and the the snorkeling was amazing. And the aminals was great to she loved the monkey's. 10 out of 10 for sure

This is a small family owned and locally operated business on the island me my daughter and my two best friends booked with them they gave us personalized tours we went to see monkeys Sloths and a small zoo of local animals the guide was absolutely amazing she took us there knew everyone got us to the front of line of other tour groups let us take our time doing each adventure. After that we went snorkeling and her family is the boat captain that took us snorkeling and cousin was a diver that took us to a beautiful reef the largest loving reef in the world. He personally showed us exquisite wildlife and when we were done she took us to go ziplining down the mountain on the island through the jungle with 16 zips 24 platforms we got pictures taken while zipping which were cheap and easy to get. All for 100.00 everyone else was paying that or more for just 1 activity. She spent 7 hrs with us on our 4 destination stop through central America and the carribean this was by far our favorite excursion and stop on our Norwegian escape cruise. I felt safe the entire time and I prefer to give all of my money to the locals instead of the cruise line. She told us all about the island the people the economy any questions I had she was happy to share the answer. Best vacation of my life was attributed directly to this team! I would 1000% recommend this to everyone if they want to most bang for their buck in Roatan Honduras!!!!

Incredible experience! All three activities were super fun, and definitely a memory of a life time. Ashley, our guide, was very knowledgeable and friendly. She went above and beyond in the trip, and was super nice to accommodate our needs for lunch in between the tours (which took her extra hours and was not in the plan). My mom and I loved every single part of the trip, not even one minor complaint. Local people in Roatan are friendly and sincere. Although it was said to be a trip for a group, there were only 1-2 families in each car, so it was more like a semi-private tour. This was great because we had more flexibility and more engagement with the local people. The trip was amazing and the price was incredibly worth it. I would recommend this trip to everyone who visits Roatan.

The whole experience was a blast. The monkeys and sloths were awesome. Snorkeling was amazing. The reef was beautiful, very clear visibility and saw lots of fish. We even got to see part of the shipwreck. Ziplining was exciting to say the least. Plus our tour guides didn't rush through everything, we took our time and enjoyed every bit of it

We had an awesome time exploring the island with Monique and Roatan Getaway Tours. We created a custom tour that included Ziplining, Monkeys and sloths, 2 stop snorkeling at West Bay, beachbreak at Bananarama, and a stop at the Rum Factory and the ROATAN sign. The snorkeling was epic 🐟 🐠 and we will definitely be back.

We had the best time on this excursion! The zip line guides were fantastic and clearly enjoy their job. We had a really great time with the sloths, monkeys and macaws. Capping it off with the snorkeling in crystal clear water with tons of coral, fish, lobster, etc in chest deep water was amazing. All in all it was an awesome day! Our driver Philip grew up on the island and told us all sorts of interesting facts as we drove from one activity to the next.

Will recommend Roatan Getaway Tours every single time!! Book with them! We booked the “all in one adventure” & couldn’t recommend it enough! 1. Kendra was our tour guide. She was very kind, knowledgeable, trustworthy, and fun! She went above and beyond to ensure we had everything we wanted (down to going to get us horchata while we snorkeled cause we mentioned wanting some). I liked that my party of 2 had a private tour guide to show us around instead of being put in a van with 10 strangers. 2. The zip lining was so much fun! The team out there had such fun personalities and did lots of cool tricks. 3. The monkeys/sloths were friendly and well kept. Their habitats were clean and large enough. 4. The snorkeling was beautiful! Equipment was newer and not run down. The guide was nice and patient. They split the group into 2 smaller groups (1 with kids/1 without) which was nice. Altogether, BOOK WITH THEM (and ask for Kendra)!!! The day could not have been more perfect!

What a fantastic tour company!! We booked a "custom" tour with them (Oct 2023) since we wanted to do ALL the things and I was a little nervous as it was just myself and my 8 year old son. Turns out it was the BEST excursion we did during our entire cruise!! We were met just outside the port gates by our guide (Ana) and the owners cousin (Monique), both with huge signs so we couldn't miss them. Love that this is a family business!! It was raining so all of the excursions on the ship were cancelled but Roatan Getaway Tours was still up for the adventure if we were...and a little rain never hurt anyone so we decided to go for it. Did the Zipline first and our guide waited the entire time (with our bags since we couldn't take them with us) and were there to meet us at the end. Next did the sloths and monkeys...which are adorable and quite an experience. My only negative feedback is that this particular "sanctuary" was just a bunch of cages shuffling people in and out which was a bit sad. This is not a reflection of the tour company as they do not own it. Next we traveled to the other side of the island to meet the snorkel boat. At first I was super hesitant as it was almost deserted due to the weather. We changed and were introduced to our captain (David) and our snorkel guide (Dustin) and let me tell you...these guys were THE BEST!!! Dustin taught me and my 8 year old how to be more efficient when diving down and helped with my little one's gear when it fell off or wasn't comfortable. Plus he took photos of us together and borrowed my camera to go off the edge of the drop off (I chickened out) which turned out to be an amazing video! We got back in the boat to go to a 2nd snorkel location and it was FREEZING cold, raining and they were so sweet to my son and I, reassuring us that would get us back in the water as soon as possible so we could get warm. The dropoff location was definitely our favorite of the two spots. And the visibility was pretty poor from the rain but it was still breathtaking! I'm already planning on a return trip in better weather to do and all day snorkel adventure with them again. DO IT! Ask for David, Dustin and Maria and you will have the most memorable time.

We had driver Ronald on a custom tour. What a great time - Sloths, Monkeys, Snorkeling and other adventures. Great staff and VIP service by Ronald, Ronald's dad (boat Driver), Turtleman (snorkle guide)!! Ronald ran out and got us some local brew while we were hugging sloths. I would totally recommend this family run and professional operation. Everything was clean and there were no issues.
