We first did this tour in 2010, and found it remarkable. Today, in 2026, it is even more relevant to the world's current political crises. To learn, first-hand, about Chile's horrific political past under the Pinochet dictatorship is not necessarily high on one's list of "things to do on a Santiago vacation", but especially for US visitors, it is a subject too close to home. A cautionary tale. La Bicicleta Verde and our guide, Lautaro, used this three-hour bike ride through the beautiful parks and neighborhoods of Santiago as a backdrop for learning. It was not a negative experience, but a reasoned and insightful commentary on a brave Chilean people and their struggle for respect and civil rights without repression. Lautaro's balanced and thoughtful explanations as we worked our way from Bellavista to La Moneda were well-researched, well-delivered, and comprehensive. This is one reason we travel. Too few cities offer such an opportunity to get beneath the superficial surface of a country's history. Bicicleta Verde should be commended for offering this experience. Please add it to your itinerary. It will be unforgettable.

This three hour adventure is very informative and enjoyable.Diego was a joy to listen to, and has a very impressive and passionate knowledge of Chilean history and the city of Santiago. He was able to convey a real sense of life in Chile today, and interesting context around recent history. The sites were very interesting and the tour was well planned and safe. Would highly recommend.

The half day bike tour with Andrean and “Flower” was excellent. These two were organized, intelligent and caring. Andrean was the leader of the bike pack. She set a great pace, and timed our stops perfectly where she educated us on Argentine history. Flower quickly repaired the few minor issues (seat height adjustments or loose chain) on some bikes and “Flower” was able to fix it quickly. Flower also blocked oncoming cars so all of us riders could cross intersections safely. I would highly recommend this tour.

One of the highlights of my trip to Santiago! Adrim was an amazing guide. It was very interesting to learn about the history of the country, the politics, she was very knowledgeable about questions asked. The parks were beautiful and I particularly liked the metaphor of one park, having so many different and diverse aspects to it, just like the country of Chile. Highly recommend!

Sophie was delightful with lots of personality and spunk but was definitely out of her element and lacked confidence to lead our group. Her boss was there to support but often interrupted and she became flustered and my heart just ached for her. Her boss was not supportive. Overall I was disappointed in the tour content. I loved the discussion about the 2019 protests as she remembers it, but the discussion about the 1973 coup d’état was poor. I think the tour has great possibilities… I just can’t give it more than 3* given the guide was not qualified. Sophie is a lovely woman and will be a great tour guide… her boss just ‘set her up’ but having her lead a tour before she was ready.

Last week we did the Parks and Policy tour with Camilo and it was excellent. For my part I hadn’t cycled for years and had a lot of patience 🙌 making the tour super enjoyable and very friendly. It is a topical tour to have the Chilean context fast. A success!

Had a great tour with Isabella! The group size was a bit large, however (about 10+ people), and sometimes we didn't make it across the road together if we were in a single file line, so if you are a nervous biker, maybe would ask for a smaller group size/private tour if possible. They provided a bottle of water at the beginning, and we did a stop at an ice cream shop. Definitely engage and ask a lot of follow up questions--as their knowledge extends beyond what is presented.

Following a booking I paid cash I saw my dates staggered on my invoices result in a loss of 300 € because a definitive answer 10 days later while I reported by telephone the problem as soon as the receipt of the invoice. My husband and I decided to take this afternoon bike tour after completing a super fun and interesting morning tour. We were in a group of 10 with our capable guide Marti and an assistant who provided exceptional safety measures as we pedalled through Santiago’s Central downtown area, using bells, blocking traffic at intersections until we were through, and making sure the entire group was always together. Marti provided very informative historical facts during brief stops along the way, and shared her passion for Chilean political history, pointing out the buildings and parks where the historical events had occurred. We enjoyed ice cream too! We highly recommend biking tours with this professional company- an active, fun and informative way to see Santiago!
