5.0 Excellent!
Lakenya_H, June 2026
We took the early morning tour, which started at 6am. Though it was an early start, especially on vacation, it was totally worth it! We got to see the monkeys, and enjoy a boat ride along the Panama Canal. We especially enjoyed the extra history about the Canal. Overall, a great experience.
5.0 Great tour - highly recommend!
Kristin_C, June 2026
Alonso was our guide and he was fantastic! He was very knowledgable about the history of Panama and the canal. He was also great at taking us around the lake to spot different monkeys and giving us information on each of them. We ended up seeing 3 different kinds of monkeys, an iguana, birds, and bats. The brunch was delicious, and pickup/dropoff from our hotel was easy and communicated clearly. Highly recommend this tour and Alonso if you have free time in Panama!

Alonso and Yoel were fantastic. Very friendly, helpful and trustworthy. Had great insights into the canal and the animals that live in and around it. The meal at the end was fantastic too and actually pretty romantic. We loved it.
5.0 Excellent tour all around.
Malek_S, June 2026
We went private which was nice. Our guide Noris was excellent and knowledgable. Included lunch is true panamanian food and delicious.
The canal is a testament to human civilization and the deep panamanian history is fantastic to learn about.
Highly recommended.
5.0 Must book this tour!
Brandon_M, May 2026
I simply cannot give enough praise to Alonso and his company. This tour exceeded expectations in every way. Starting out, traffic was blocked near our pick up point and we couldn’t find the spot where the driver was able to park. Alonso got out of the van and walked about a block and a half to find us and lead us back to the van. The van was clean and comfortable with great air conditioning. Alonso speaks great English and gave us a very informative and interesting tour of the Panama Canal and the history. When we boarded the boat we met our driver and began the boat ride to Monkey Island along the Chagres River. We were able to see a crocodile, howler monkeys, capuchin monkeys, tamarind monkeys, and many iguanas. Alonso was great at spotting the animals and directing our boat driver to a location where we all had a clear view of them.
After our tour we made our way to the restaurant where we were served traditional Panamanian food. The tour description describes the meal as a “brunch” which seemed to us like it might mean a small meal where we might be able to sample a few things. We took the afternoon tour so I’m not sure what it’s like in the morning but our meal was amazing. We were given a menu and could choose from 4-5 different items and drinks (sodas, juice, or beer). The proportions were far bigger than we expected and the food was delicious, highly recommend the passion fruit juice! We left the restaurant fat and happy!
10/10 would recommend this tour and Alonso to any and everyone!
5.0 A must if in Panama
Lani_C, May 2026
Alonso communicated all the details of the trip and itinerary to perfection. He provided us loads of information about Panama, the canal, the environment and the animals. The tour was excellent and Alonso were excellent! We had so much fun and had the opportunity to see 3 kinds of monkeys, birds, and lizards. At the end we had a scrumptious brunch with fresh fruit, it was delicious. Highly recommend!
4.0 Great way to start the morning
Kadian_D, May 2026
The host was on time, very knowledgeable on the history of the Canal. Wish I say more monkeys but thats no fault of the provider
4.0 Hopefully Noris is your guide
Wishyoubetter, May 2026
We did the Monkey & Sloth Canal Boat Safari with Casco Viejo brunch, and our guide Noris was absolutely magical. Her energy stayed positive throughout the entire experience. She was incredibly knowledgeable, vibrant, had the answer to every question, and made you feel like you’d known her your whole life. She truly made this one of my favorite experiences in Panama.
The tour started with hotel pickup in a comfortable A/C van. From there, we drove to the lake and boarded a boat that took us to Monkey Island. We were able to spot three different types of monkeys and captured some amazing photos and videos along the way.
Ironically, the only thing we didn’t see was a sloth , which is funny because it’s in the title of the tour and that’s the only animal not really mentioned in the tour description or brought up during the tour itself. Noris did such an amazing job that I honestly forgot about the sloths until we got back to our room. This is the only thing keeping me from giving 5 star review.
After the boat tour, we headed to El Restaurante Nacional for brunch. Fun fact: it was originally the first bank in Panama, and the original vault door is still there. We were given the option of three different meals, and drinks included sangria, beer, and tea (sodas were extra). The food was great, and my sangria definitely did not disappoint.
After brunch, we had the option to stay and explore the area or be driven back to the hotel. Overall, this was an unforgettable experience, and Noris was a huge part of what made it so special.
4.0 Top Guide
GoPlaces589783, May 2026
Overall, the trip was good. Our guide Noris was very good, friendly, and she provided us with a lot of information. The pickup took forever, and unfortunately, we did not see any large ships, but we did see many monkeys and other animals. The food at the end was super delicious - it was a nice outing overall.
5.0 Amazing tour
Aaron_M, May 2026
This was a wonderful tour. It exceeded our expectations. We took the 1:30 tour. A very nice, air conditioned bus picked us up and drove us to a beautiful lake, where we got onto a covered boat that could hold 15-20 people. It took us through beautiful green waterways with lush islands where we saw three different types of monkeys, a crocodile, birds, iguanas, and a basilisk. We passed two large ships passing through the canal. And we even saw a sloth on the drive back. The bus brought us back to Casco Viejo, where we ate at a wonderful Panamanian restaurant, where the food was amazing. Noris was the perfect host. We couldn’t have had a better time!
5.0 Great time on the Panama Canal Wildlife boat safari
mjsmithgall, May 2026
This was a wonderful trip. Our guide was Noris and she was fantastic. Extremely personable. And very outgoing and nice. Tour started with a bus ride to where the boat was. Small boat. I think we had 12 people. Noris gave us lots of history on the way to the boat and then on the boat she continued to give us history of the Panama Canal and the lake we were in.
After getting through the main part of the lake we went to several islands. You don’t get out. These are protected areas but the boat pulls right up to the trees. We saw three different types of monkeys, iguanas, a basilisk, a crocodile and several birds.
The boat ride was a wonderful way to spend some time. It was very pretty and Noris as well as the boat driver were very good at spotting animals for us to see. Incidentally you are seeing the animals up close. Some of the monkeys came right down to the boat.
On the drive back to Casco Viejo the driver of the bus, Manuel, spotted a sloth and we pulled over to get pics.
After that we went to dinner and had a great meal. The meal was included. It was a popular restaurant in Casco Viejo.
It was really a great trip that we were very happy we did. We definitely recommend.

The tour surpassed our expectations. John was extremely knowledgable and a fantastic communicator, We saw numerous animals which was exciting and knowing we were on waterways that are a part of the Panama Canal made it very exciting. 4.0 Boat tour & Casco Viejo Brunch highlight
Tifanie_D, April 2026
We enjoyed seeing part of the Canal and some animals. I just thought it was supposed to last longer and that we'd see more.
The brunch at the end was really good and located in the center of old downtown. Enjoyed the experience overall.
5.0 Best rainforest trip

Was picked up promptly at our hotel the charge was included, and our ticket price knowledgeable staff was kind and considerate looked out for our safety and our well-being would definitely do it again. Our guides name was Daniel very knowledgeable about the rainforest. Excellent explanation about everything. Even before arriving to the rainforest, our driver notice a sloth in the tree and they pulled over so we could take pictures.

Nadia_K, April 2026
This tour was great! Our tour guide Alonso was incredibly knowledgable and so friendly. My husband and I really enjoyed that we were picked up right from our hotel in Playa Bonita and returned afterward. The vehicle was clean, comfortable and air conditioned. The boat was nice and covered so we were protected from the sun. We saw monkeys, bats, an alligator, pelicans, iguanas and lots of plant life, as well as shipping vessels. The brunch featured some y7mmy local offerings; fruit, juices and great coffee. I would highly recommend to others who are visiting!
5.0 So glad we booked this tour!

5.0 Excellent experience on the Panama Canal going to Monkey Island. Wuendell, our tour guide was great.
Terrence J, April 2026
This Panam Canal and monkey island tour was an excellent experience. We got picked on time at the Starbucks at the Albrook mall and from there the tour began. Our tour guide was Wuendell and he was very courteous, knowledgeable and did the absolute best at sharing a great experience. On the canal by boat (Lake Gatun) we got real close passing the big ships and also we got to see VERY CLOSE monkeys and birds of different sorts. After the trip we had a complimentary evening lunch/dinner in the old town. 100% would recommend this experience.

5.0 Monkey island tour in the Panama canal
Alison_W, April 2026
We had a great trip with Daniel been our host. He had great English and shared many facts along the way. We got to see several types of monkey, Toucan and a fresh water crocodile as well may birds and fauna . We had to go into central Panama City for pick up as Casco Viejo was not an option for pick up. We got to see many boats going through the Panama Canal and raced a couple of them. The tour was reasonably priced. Recommend this tour

We saw a few varieties of monkeys, a crocodile, various birds & iguanas:) Unfortunately, we didn't get to see a sloth, perhaps another time....

5.0 Monkeys & Toucans & Bats, Oh My!
Kathryn_L, March 2026
Wendell our guide was awesome! It was the perfect tour for us. We were picked up at our hotel (which wasn’t on the original list) right on time and then as we rode to Lake Gatun we learned of the Panama canals’ importance and history. Once at the lake and on the boat we had a refreshing ride in the morning air to Monkey Island where we saw 3 different types of monkeys, sleeping bats, iguanas, toucans and other birds! Wendell was very knowledgeable and respectful of the local wildlife. Back on land, we were driven to Casco Viejo where we had the best Panamanian brunch food we’d had after 24 days in Panama. My husband and I are not much of an organized tour people - but this was perfect. Not too long, not too many people (10 of us total), lots of great info, a nice boat ride, got to see MONKEYS hanging in their trees and some tasty treats in Casco Viejo.
4.0 Monkeys
Bernice_M, March 2026
Learned a lot of about Panama’s natural flora and fauna from our guide. It was nice to see the monkeys and other wildlife up close as well.
5.0 Wonderful Experience!!
Jeff_D, March 2026
We really enjoyed this tour. John was very knowledgeable and shared lots of great information about Panamá, the wildlife, the Canal, and many other subjects. The pick-up and drop-off was very convenient and the bus we travelled in was comfortable and air conditioned. The boat ride was very nice and we were able to see a variety of animals, insects, and vegetation. I was so glad that we were just observing the animals and not interacting with them. We had no desire to disrupt the natural habitat by enticing monkeys with food items. The guides did use different calls to encourage the wildlife to show and that was perfect for us. Also, the lunch was absolutely delicious! I couldn’t finish it all but it was so good that I took my leftovers to eat later. I would definitely recommend this tour!

Brittnee_F, March 2026
The Monkey Islands are a must-see when visiting Panama City and the canal. Unlike other boat tours, our guides focused on conservation and the animals' health and safety, which I appreciated. I learned a ton about the local wildlife!
5.0 Monkeys, history, food, and biodiversity!
Breena_L, March 2026
John was our guide and he was awesome. So knowledgeable and great at spotting wildlife. They had binoculars for us which really came in handy. Our group was small and intimate which was really nice. Food at the end was delicious. We saw a couple of monkeys that was little BABIES on them!!! Including a sloth! With a little baby, I was almost crying it was so cute 😅
5.0 Great monkey viewing plus delicious dinner!!
Nancy_L, March 2026
Great Monkey viewing! We got to see different types of monkey groups, iguanas, birds and spotted a sloth. They were great to pick us up and get us back to our location. It took a while to pick everyone up at their pickup spots and with traffic, we ended up being on the bus for 1 1/2 hours before we got to the boat launch. The port o potties were padlocked at the pier so it would have been helpful to have a bathroom stop before getting to the pier. We stopped at a place for the bathroom after the boat ride, which was definitely needed. The dinner was super yummy and the restaurant provided wonderful service. This was a great tour but just needs an additional bathroom stop before getting to the pier.
3.0 We took the 6:30 am trip,...
Derrick_C, March 2026
We took the 6:30 am trip, saw monkeys, birds and a sloth- this was a very quick trip- we were picked up on time, went out to the boat launch, jumped in the boat, went up the canal to the islands (about a 20 min boat ride on the canal) - we took about 40 mins finding monkeys/ birds etc and then went back to the boat launch-from there we went back into town and had a lovely brunch, and then were dropped off back at our hotel by 10:30 am.
OUr guide was super knowlegable and we really enjoyed this quick trip.
Take the morning trip, its cooler and the animals are usually feeding.
5.0 Great service, excellent tour guide (Caesar), safe driving (did not catch the driver’s name), and a wonderful experience
grayson073, March 2026
We had a smooth trip both by bus and boat, saw lots of wildlife, and enjoyed the meal at the restaurant afterwards (this was the 1:30 tour). For a family with two small children it was very enjoyable. There will be quite a bit of sitting since the majority of the tour is in a bus and on a boat so just keep that in mind (both for your own mobility/endurance but kids’ patience levels as well).
5.0 Perfect trip
KirbyHill, March 2026
The tour was perfect! Not too long, but we saw 2 different types of monkeys (Tamarins and Capuchins), a crocodile, a Cayman, and tons of birds. The tour guide Cesar was friendly, funny, and knowledgeable. And it all ended with a delicious meal at El Nacional! Would highly recommend!
4.0 Great way to see monkeys, Canal, and lunch in Old Town plus great
Dawn P, March 2026
The early morning tour weather was perfect! Alfonso was a great guide who was excited to show us as much wildlife as he could! Only 4 stars cuz when we spotted Monkeys, the boat driver kept moving too fast with no time to enjoy the monkeys, feed them, or get photos. We rode 40 minutes in the van. Then a 20-minute boat ride to the islands, so thought we should’ve had the extra few minutes to enjoy the wildlife. The brunch at the end in Old Town was amazing! They set us up in the famous Independence square and the food was delicious!!
5.0 Fun morning!
Kristy_B, March 2026
Ethical wildlife excursion where animals are not fed. Noris and John were informative and gracious guides. Jared at El Nacional assisted with getting us a ride back to our hotel. Brunch was delicious! Would recommend for families!
