Beautiful location, extremely nice crew. However, the instructions to get to the meeting place were not clear. We had to stop many times to ask other venders to meet the taxi drivers and it quite a walk to get to outside taxi .

It’s about an hour and 10 minute drive to get to the area where you get on a pontoon and see the lagoon. It is very nice. Very clear water then you have to go an hour and 10 minutes back to the boat so it’s over two hours of travel time.

The pickup was prompt and WhatsApp really helped to identify who when Great communication from several days leading to The 1 hour or so drive by the hired taxi was smooth to the little simple and yet lovely venue Right away we proceeded to separate into chalupa or little boats We spent fabulous time going to a deep black hole and then across freshwater so blue that it felt magical Great company Few cannettes of beers and fruits Nice explanation very down to earth Beautiful scenery and a couple of stops to walk or swim in that blue We were back at our ports in time Met lovely people who also toured I highly recommend and even as a Solo Ps no sunscreen in your face unless you don’t put it in the water

The truth is a disappointment and a total deception..first left us waiting about 1 hour! To pick us up and then the tour did not last as indicated! It lasted much less to start the afternoon of the pickup and be able to return. I don't really recommend them!

We did the pontoon tour around the lagoon with Wild Wave and it was a beautiful experience from start to finish. The tour took us through different points to swim in those incredible waters, with time to enjoy, play with the ball we were given and just connect with the magic of Bacalar. The attention of the team was impeccable: we were offered fresh fruit, cold beers and a super clear guide in both Spanish and English. The energy of all the staff is super cute, attentive, respectful and very cool. Captain Silvia makes your tour very fun and interactive, informs you of the history and wealth that inhabits the lagoon. A huge point in favor: I traveled with Juana, my little dog, and we were received with total love and naturalness. It was a quiet, safe and very enjoyable walk for both of us. If you are in Bacalar and want to live the lagoon from a relaxed, caring and authentic place, Wild Wave is the experience. I highly recommend.

The tour was perfect! The weather looked like he wouldn't cooperate but in the end he did let us enjoy it. Both Leandro and Maria were very attentive and kind to us, explaining everything about the lagoon. Super recommended! And they also have accommodation options with a spectacular view of the lagoon!

1hr 15 drive/ride from cruise port. The water is beautiful to see and swim in. No beautiful fish to snorkel and see because the minerals in the water don't attract wildlife. The guide was informative and the fruit was refreshing.

5.0 Unbelievable Experience - A Must Do in Costa Maya

Communication with the tour provider was clear & directions were provided well in advance. It was a little bit difficult to find the driver since traffic issues surrounding the port were a little hectic since other cruise lines were there. We were transported with another couple in a taxi to the lagoon. We were met by Captain Leondro & his First Mate Maria & boarded the sailboat to the lagoon. We saw several sites around the lagoon & enjoyed swimming in the pristine fresh clear water of the lagoon. We were served the most delicious mangoes, papaya, & watermelon on a floating tray. It was a fantastic experience & I would definitely do it again. We really enjoyed our time.

The tour was absolutely amazing! I first reached out via WhatsApp, and they responded very quickly, helping me make the reservation with ease. We were on a cruise, and they even reached out the day before to confirm our arrival. The meeting spot was conveniently located just outside the port, past all the stores. Our driver, Jorge, was right there waiting for us—super kind and welcoming. Ricardo, our tour guide, was outstanding! He was so friendly and made the entire experience unforgettable, even with the rain. Everything was incredibly well- organized and easy to book. I would highly recommend this tour and this company to anyone looking for a wonderful experience!

This is simply a must see, must do! We had the best time, the drive was an hour and 15 minutes from our port, but sooooo worth the drive. We relaxed and talked with our family group of 7 on the drive. Not too much to see. Then got to where the boat was. Use the facilities, then hopped on with our life jackets for the most beautiful boat ride and snorkeling/swimming and information of a 7 colored lagoon of fresh water and cenotes! The staff on our boat, catered to our every need, very accommodating, friendly, professional and informative of the lagoon!my family of two aunts, one cousin, mother child and husband were thanking me for finding this excursion! The water was amazing, and the fruit was watermelon and mangos...the best mangoes I have ever had...and I'm a mango freak!

Incredible tour of the lagoon of Bacalar. Silvia, the captain is a genius and she gave us interesting information about microbialites. The landscapes, natural environment and fresh water of the lagoon build a unique paradise. The sailing tour is the best way to live this experience.

We chose the sailboat over a pontoon for a quieter, less crowded experience - a chance to chill with our 3 teenage daughters. Wild Waves delivered :-) Our skipper Irving and first mate Carla looked after us superbly during the 3 hrs spent cruising around the beautiful Bacalar lagoon. Knowledgeable and welcoming, they engaged with us throughout the trip yet still managed to give us plenty of time & space to chill and enjoy the day as a family. Favourite spots for us were Pirates canal & checking out Cenote Negro. The fruit platter towards the end was a particular highlight - tastiest we’ve had in Mexico! Thank you Irving (and Carla) for answering all our questions (so many!) and making us feel so welcome in Bacalar. Highly recommend this trip.

This was a great excursion. Captain Luis was great and was very informative. There isn’t very much to do in Costa Maya and this is a little outside of Costa Maya, and hour drive each way. However, it was worth the drive. I would recommend.

The tour was fantastic. Unfortunately, we did not have good weather, which is why the wonderful colors of the lagoon did not come into their own. The team on board was super friendly and answered a lot of questions. It was super interesting. We sailed a lot of the tour with the wind, no engine. That was my personal highlight from the tour. Our family had a blast during this tour! We had a relaxing and peaceful experience. Socrates and Zazil are very friendly and particularly passionate about the Lake and its environmental protection. Our family enjoyed swimming for the first time in such clear water. We also liked that they offered fresh fruit and not heavy food like other tours. The shore excursions offered by the Cruise line were limited and more expensive. I highly recommend booking this tour with them if you're docking in Costa Maya from a cruise ship. Fiona and Byron are attentive and will ensure you return on time. The Bacalar Lagoon was the perfect place for our first time sailing!

This experience was extraordinary! Wild Wave staff Bacalar Leandro (English and German speaking) and Zihua (English speaking) were super attentive and shared their extensive knowledge of the area enriching the ride with the fascinating history of the place. We got his cute Ixchel sailboat. The cherry on the cake was that we could swim for a while in a divine area with crystal clear waters and a fine white sand like talc. We had a day with passing clouds that at the different times that the sun rays reappeared were changed by the various shades of blues, greens and colors that delight us the nature of this lagoon. The beauty of this place far exceeded my expectations, there are simply no words or photos that pay justice to the majesty of this lagoon. And without a doubt the best way to appreciate the lagoon is by sailing with Wild Wave Bacalar. An extraordinary experience!!! The staff of Wild Wave Bacalar Leandro (speaks english and german) and Zihua (speaks english) were very welcoming and they shared their ample knowledge of the area enriching the trip with the fascinating history of the place. We got to ride on the beautiful Ixchel sailboat. The cherry of the cake was that we were able to swim in a beautiful crystal clear area where the white sand was as fine as talc. We had some clouds that passed by and actually as the sun rays reappered we were amazed with the change of tonalities of blues, greens and its diverse pallet of colors that this lagoon delights us with. The beauty of this place definitely surpaseed my expectations. There are simply no words and or photos that can do justice of the real sublime beauty the lagoon. There is no doubt in my mind that the best way to enjoy and appreciate this lagoon is on Wild Wave Bacalar sailboats

Overall the whole trip was amazing and it is not for less great place, great hosts nothing could go wrong. We had already had the experience of sailing the lagoon, this time we chose to do it in a more relaxing and different way on board "paddel board " and wow! what an experience I highly recommend, my daughter was nervous and when I managed to stand and dominate the board was the happiest, if it is your first time as was our case, don't worry the staff was taking care of us and giving the necessary advice at all times to make our experience a success and it was, really thank you to all the crew for their attentions. until next time.
