5.0 Great experience!

Aquiel B, June 2026

Thorough explanations and the experience was immersive.

5.0 Willy Wonka moved to Panama

Reginald_K, May 2026

Great fun! I didn’t know Willy Wonka was from Panama.🤣 We learned the entire process from harvest to making our on chocolates with what you like (nuts, fruits, etc.) ended with a tasting of several other products filled with caramel and passion fruit. Can’t miss! 5 stars!

5.0 Amazing Walk Through about Chocolate

171sunnyt, May 2026

Wonderful experience, learning about how there is a difference betwen chocolate and "candy." The host did a wonderful job breaking down the processes and having us use our senses along the way from the bean to the finished product.

5.0 Excellent history with...

Elizabeth_D, May 2026

Excellent history with Spanish and English speaking guide. Got to create and take my own bar with offered toppings. Also tasted most popular flavors of chocolate at shop

5.0 You had me at “Chocolate”

SteveP507, May 2026

This was lots of fun. After the short educational talk, we each took a turn at tempering the chocolate before making bars and adding different filings. Afterwards, we had a tasting session while bars set in the fridge. Top tip - you can make additional bars for $5 - this is a bargain price and the bars will make great gifts.

5.0 10/10 I recommend

Tiffany_O, May 2026

It’s something that’s fun to do. Who knew making chocolate would be so easy. Our instructor explained everything so well! We had so much fun. It was a beautiful atmosphere.. I had a great time.. and the chocolate is delicious too! Go try it!

5.0 A must do experience!

Casandra E, May 2026

This was a such a fun experience. There was only 6 of us but it was intimate, interesting and informative. The host also let us be interactive in assisting with the making of the chocolate. and the end they did a chocolate tasting with prosecco. The space itself was super cute ,clean and quaint. Highly recommend this experience! I ended up buying some chocolate to go!

5.0 Delicious chocolate

Lisa_L, April 2026

Really interesting. Nice people working there. Super yummy chocolates! Loved it and would highly recommend.

5.0 Make sure to do this

Valeria_H, April 2026

This was a wonderful experience Juan. Was very knowledgeable and I was shocked at how long it take to make real chocolate.

5.0 Worthwhile Tour

Sharmica_H, April 2026

Absolutely loved how relaxing and seamless this tour was. The chocolate making experience was fun in a cool, laid back atmosphere and the very knowledgeable guide (Lando) made it so easy from crafting to tasting. The downside is your handmade chocolate won't survive the heat, mine melted before getting back to the hotel. Nevertheless, do the tour. You'll also get sparkling wine and free samples. The place is absolutely beautiful too, very clean and smells good. Shout out to the couple from Cayman Islands & the besties from the USA who added their sparkle to the tour. A very small group of us made it so much easy to get undivided attention from our guide.

2.0 Overpriced

Payal_V, April 2026

OK - simply ok - do it if you want to kill time and waste your money. We learnt about the chocolate making process. But putting melted chocolate in a mold and sprinkling toppings on it was very basic and not worth the price. While I loved the taste of the chocolate, both my teen kids hated it. They refuse to eat the chocolate we made amounting to $180 (for 4 tiny bars).

4.0 A chocolate lover’s dream

Nakessa_B, April 2026

A beautiful interactive lesson of cocoa and chocolate making. The drink pairing and tasting was an added touch. Highly recommended.

5.0 Great fun

Kym_B, April 2026

This was a super friendly and fun experience and the making of chocolate was explained very well by Rolando. There was a large group of people and all were accommodated with patience and kindness.

5.0 Host knew exactly what he...

Brittany_C, April 2026

Host knew exactly what he was talking about and made the experience exceptional for not only me, but my 5 yr old daughter

5.0 Super recommended!!!

caroj0705, April 2026

Beautiful experience, they show you the step by step of preparing the chocolate bars and then you can make your own and take it for free (1 is only included in the price - if you want to make more than one can but it is paid separately). The best part was the tasting of the end, amazing!!! Highly recommended!!!

1.0 service

markwH7041NQ, March 2026

Hi, i just wanted to share and mention about my last Friday night visit at bar with my fried before went to show that when i asked for receipt, i was only given the payment machine without the actual receipt.i need itemised receipt, so that was a bit frustrating ,waitress name believe jean. i thought it would be helpful to let you know.

5.0 Educational and interactive for all ages

Alex R, March 2026

My family loved this experience at Nomé. We learned all about the process of making chocolate and got to taste the cacao bean at each stage. The guide made it fun and interactive and seamlessly transitioned from Spanish to English. Getting to make our own chocolate bar was also a cool experience. While our bars cooled, we had a chocolate tasting of all of the Nomé varieties. Highly recommend the Geisha coffee flavor. My kids are 12 and 8 and really enjoyed this experience.

5.0 Chocolate

StevenCo_W, March 2026

Great information about chocolate production. After we made our bars, we did a tasting. Well done! 👏👏

5.0 Chocolate Bar

Khemoe_F, March 2026

Great educational experience A+, very informative enjoyed the experience and the knowledge provided in this tour.

5.0 Chocolate delight

Sharman S, March 2026

Chocolate shop which offers a experience and instruction in panamanian chocolates. The class lasts about an hour and a half and costs thirty five dollars person. Initial introduction and instructions and education about cacao beans and production was educational and instructive. Firsthand experience then in cooling and tempering the chocolate, and then making your own bar. Finishing with a taste of different small chocolates while waiting for your bars to cool. We thoroughly enjoyed this experience.

5.0 Fun experience learning...

Scott_P, March 2026

Fun experience learning how chocolate is made and then making and testing chocolates either the group.

4.0 A fun learning experience!

jefferiastrong, March 2026

It was a fun time. Our instructor was fun and knowledgeable. His demonstration was engaging. It was fun having a part in the chocolate bar making process. There was also a chocolate sampling at the end which would be fun for big chocolate lovers.

5.0 All about chocolate

gary_k, March 2026

Everyone was friendly and spoke English. The candy bar making is upstairs but is open to shop and dining below so the acoustics made it hard to hear at times. You get to see cocoa pod and taste actual cocoa seed. Where the cocoa is grown in Panama and how it is made into chocolate is explained. Then you get to help cool the chocolate on marble table. Then pour chocolate into mold and add toppings. Next you go downstairs and get little pieces of the various chocolates that Nomé makes with varying amounts of cocoa and other ingredients and two specialty filled chocolates with your choice of water or preseco. By the time you finish the chocolate bars you made have chilled and are ready to go. We learned some new things about chocolate and enjoyed our experience!

5.0 Fun and educational

Kha_H, March 2026

I can say so many positive things about my experience with the Nome staff today, but then I'd be writing a dissertation, and I don't have time for that, lol. Simply put, the staff was very friendly and informative and he gave us indepth details about the entire process of chocolate making and I can truly say that I left Nome with more knowledge about Chocolate than I had when I arrived. The process was fun and educational and I would recommend them to anyone whos looking to learn the basics about preparing chocolate and wanting a fun experience at the same time. I was thoroughly pleased, please check them out! You won't be sorry!

5.0 Very good experience

luisvH68YX, March 2026

Very good experience, very interesting.

5.0 Great time for all ages

Arielle_C, February 2026

We had so much fun. A great experience for any chocolate lover of all ages. We got to learn a lot, try some treats AND make our own bar. Super easy to get too, i would definitely recommend!

5.0 Panamanian Chocolate Making

R_P, February 2026

It is a wonderful experience and Rolando is great teacher! The chocolate was amazing. The place was easy to find and everyone was very welcoming.

5.0 Panamanian chocolate is delicious

VitraMcCoy, February 2026

It’s a short tour, about an hour. It’s a family run business that has made me appreciate chocolate even more. From the beginning to the end, it was engaging

5.0 Yum

Liz_R, February 2026

There were approx 10 in the group. Our guide, using real props, thoroughly explained the process from harvest to the final product-chocolate. We then poured our own chocolate bar into a mold and customized it with our choice of added dried fruits and nuts. While the bars were cooling, we were treated with various samples. YUM. Our guide’s English was great and the process a fun experience. I would have purchased their chocolate bars, but found the price too expensive.

5.0 Great quality chocolate & unique experience in Casco Viejo!

Olga_T, February 2026

It was educational and particularly hands-on to make our customized chocolate! It was a great experience. We highly recommend.

5.0 Excellent attention and natural flavor of panama chocolate! Recommended 200%

Belinda B, January 2026

Excellent attention and taste of Panamanian natural chocolate. 200% recommended. I recommend their chocolate inspired by mouths of the bull Panama and martini 63%. Good place to talk as friends and feel at home!🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍

5.0 Really fun, hands on experience!

327louisag, January 2026

Really fun, hand on experience! And best of all, we got to actually make our own chocolate bars!

5.0 Delightful Experience

Courteney M, January 2026

My husband and I enjoyed this experience very much. I would definitely recommend it! At the end we experimented with the various percentages of caco and asked them to make hot chocolate with each one. That was on our own pocketbook but it was fun.

3.0 Not a private experience. Great guide, learned a lot!

Latasha_J, January 2026

My partner & I did a chocolate tour on 1/15 and I want to be clear the guide was absolutely amazing!! However, this was not a private tour as advertised and says within the description. On top of this, the person was recording (herself, but it’s small so of course we were in it) the entire time on two devices. It was really distracting so I felt like I couldn’t relax/enjoy the full process. I would not have booked if this wasn’t sold as a private tour. Guide 10/10. Overall experience 5/10. In addition, the tour states it’s around 1hr 15 mins. The full chocolate making and tasting took a little less than 40 mins. All the staff were super kind so I do really want to emphasize that, but tour wasn’t as advertised.

Response from Host, January 2026

1.0 We were very disappointed...

Aurelie_G, January 2026

We were very disappointed by our experience. We had booked a cocoa making and tasting workshop at this establishment via Viator. When we arrived on time, and even ten minutes in advance, we were informed that the group had grown too large (18 people) to welcome us. We were then asked to come back two hours later, making sure that the group would then be reduced to five participants. After waiting two hours, we returned at the agreed time, only to find that the activity would still be done with a group of about 20 people. The staff were cold and without any understanding of our frustration, just redirecting us to Viator in case of dissatisfaction. The space is clearly too small to accommodate such large groups, making the experience impersonal, unnecessarily long and difficult to justify in terms of the asking price. We sincerely hope that Nomé will reconsider its practices to provide an experience that meets the expectations of its customers in the future.

Response from Host, January 2026

4.0 Nome experience

laurencE7022QI, January 2026

I’m not a huge chocolate lover, but the flavors were fantastic. They didn’t let us go into where they make the chocolate like the pictures show

1.0 Skip it -- impossible to hear

Anne_G, December 2025

Don't bother. It's impossible to hear. The room is open to the ground floor and there is so much background noise from the ground floor that the demonstrator is inaudible.

Response from Host, December 2025

Saludos.

5.0 Do this tour if you have a sweet tooth!

Alaina_C, December 2025

Such a fun class, there was a small group and it felt personalized for a bunch of strangers. The history and watching her explain in the upstairs of the cute shop, with being able to taste the ingredients before we made our own chocolate bar. We were able to pick our toppings of either nuts, dried fruit, or both. They cook and wrap it the same day, and as they set downstairs they gave us a champagne and let us try a few of their chocolates from the shop downstairs. Some were spicy, sweet, or boozy. Really awesome tour that lasted about 1-1 1/2 hours, located right in downtown Casco Viejo so it’s easy walking distance from most hotels if you’re in the area.

5.0 We had a 6 PM appointment...

Salvatore_G, December 2025

We had a 6 PM appointment on Saturday night. we booked it on viatour. They do not have a 6 PM experience there. When we got there at 5:50 they were closing up. Juan greeted us at the store. We showed them our booking reservations and he was surprised that they were showing 6 PM bookings. He was very nice and accommodated us. We had our own private experience. Rolando was the one who gave us our experience there. They were so accommodating. it couldn’t have been any better. I couldn’t thank them enough for letting us come in and experiencing it.

Response from Host, December 2025

Abrazos.

5.0 Rolando was an amazing...

Silvia_F, December 2025

Rolando was an amazing guide! The experience takes us through the chocolate making steps, everyone gets to make their own choco bar and there’s a cool tasting at the end! Wouldn’t recommend more!

Philecia_M, November 2025

My family had an amazing time during the experience. Our group included kids, 5 and 10, and it was enjoyable for everyone. Overall great experience!

5.0 Chocolate class

Crysta_B, November 2025

This was such a fun experience to participate in. I got to try chocolate, learn the history of the coco bean and get the interactive experience with our helpful instructor. Everything was super delicious and definitely a memorable experience. I was very happy to go home with my own chocolate bar .

Response from Host, November 2025

3.0 Not a must-do but a pleasant experience

Explore776292, November 2025

Interesting process but not totally new information. People friendly. Nice tastings of various cocoa per centages with commentary

Response from Host, November 2025

Muchas gracias por su opinión, saludos.

5.0 Great Experience

Keturah_J, November 2025

Great time learning and getting to experience the chocolate making experience. Highly recommend it in a group or solo.

5.0 Chocolate Factory

Shalyse_P, November 2025

We arrived earlier than scheduled and were able to be seen. The customer service and the experience was amazing. The process of making chocolate was explained in detail and the different chocolates we were able to taste were great. I wish I was able to pick the type of chocolate we were able to make though. But overall I enjoyed the experience and would recommend for a good time in Panama.

5.0 Eric was incredible at...

Andrew_L, October 2025

Eric was incredible at explaining the process from where the cacao is sourced in Panama to the chocolate making process, demonstrating each step and having us try it out and making our own chocolate bar!

4.0 Chocolate experience

Juanita_H, October 2025

Enjoyed the ability to learn how chocolate is created and make a bar of my own. I would recommend that the group be limited as we had over 20 in a small area. It was hard for everyone to see and hear.

Response from Host, October 2025

Hello Juanita, thank you so much for your visit and feedback! Hugs!

5.0 Tasty education

A1332SLtonib, October 2025

First, the chocolate bar was quaint and inviting. I could see myself relaxing with a cup of coffee accompanied by chocolate. I was pleasantly surprised with the information given on the process of making chocolate and the laboratory it is made in. The small chocolate laboratory is located on the second floor. The chocolate bar making experience was fun and delicious. There was even a tasting of flavored chocolate bites after while the chocolate bars were hardening in the refrigerator. I’d highly recommend this experience to all of the chocolate lovers visiting Panama.

5.0 Nome Chocolate Experience

Amy_G, October 2025

It was very fun and informative. Even though it was more demonstration than actual cooking, our Nome rep was knowledgeable, patient and answered a bunch of questions. The biggest bonus is the chocolate is outstanding.
