Manila Social and Political Walk

Presented by Preview World

From £34.00

The Philippines is a country with crystal-clear waters, the very heart of what the word paradise means. In this country, we can find a lot of light, yes… but also a lot of shadows. We’re going to have a look at the great things, as well as the shadows of the country. This interactive storytelling walk is meant to have the flow and information-heavy experience of a documentary. It takes us into a comprehensive analysis, providing surprising answers. It highlights the social and political elements of the Philippines, from the creation of the Filipino state to modern times. We’ll address both historical and current events from a balanced & non-biased point of view to help you determine your views of this land for yourself. The experience is aimed at people with a genuine interest in politics and those keen to learn more about the situation in the Philippines by conducting some first-hand research. Feel free to contact the Planetwonk team for a date and hour that suits you best.

5.0 I highly enjoyed my tour with Alex.

Scott S, March 2026

Alex is a very knowledgeable and passionate tour guide. It was nice being able to ask him questions he always had an answer to. I highly recommend this tour.

5.0 Great Informative Culture Walk

VoyagerVicki, March 2026

Great, informative evening walking around Makati with Alex, a very knowledgeable expat guide from Serbia. We (well, he mostly) talked about various topics of Philippine culture, history, and politics and made some comparisons with other countries. As other reviewers have said, Alex loves the Philippines and loves to share information about the country. He's a very personable guide and a joy to spend 2 1/2 hours with. I learned a lot and had a very enjoyable evening seeing a new part of Manila and learning more about the Philippines. Highly recommended to get deeper insight into the culture of the country.

5.0 Fascinating insight into Philippine life

Sarah_M, February 2025

In addition to walking around areas I would not have found on my own, Alex is both knowledgeable & passionate about the Philippines; the country but particularly Manila with all it’s contrasts & challenges and can see right into the heart of it’s people. History & life challenges which are not taught on the usual tourist trips is abundant n this walking experience.

5.0 Lovely tour!

We had a great time on the tour with Alex. He was very knowledgeable on the political and social situation of the Philippines, genuinely loves the country, and showed us spots in the city we had not been before! It was a lovely tour and walk and we would highly recommend it.

Highly recommend. I had a really good time with Alex learning all about the history of the Philippines and also talking about his time here and all he has learned.
