5.0 Amazing Island and Family Centric tour guide

Kimberly_H, June 2026

Christian showed us his beautiful island on our Port day from Star of The Seas on 6/11/26. Roatan was a hidden gem and Christian showed us all around and gave us breath taking views and a deep history of the island. He took our 3, 6, and 7 year old to the best monkey and sloath sanctuary with the kindest staff that made sure our kids had their fill with the animals. He also suggested a great beach for snorkeling and swimming with our incredibly active kids with an accessible restaurant and clean restroom facility. Christian was the perfect guide for the day and was so attentive and amazing with our kids especially. You can tell he truly cares about your tour and loves his home island. He truly made our family’s day in Roatan a memorable one.

This was the best excursion we went on! Darby and George were amazing and showed us all around! They truly made the experience the best!

5.0 Most personal tour!

Brandy_C, June 2026

Christy was our personal tour guide for the day… she lives here and is so knowledgeable about the island… it was literally like spending the day with a friend… we stopped when we wanted and she showed us the highlights of Roatan…a highlight was being at one of the most beautiful beaches I have ever been to! Our ship had technical difficulties and we arrived several hours late and the company accommodated us beautifully… this was such a personal tour with the BEST GUIDE- a monkey jumped on my head at the sanctuary and it was a total blast!

5.0 Funnest day in Roatan

James_P, June 2026

Darbie & our driver (I’m sorry I forgot his name) took our family on a fun & educational excursion of Roatan Honduras. Our first stop was to check out the Mimosa Pudica plant, also known as the 'sensitive plant'. Its leaves famously fold inward when touched. Darbie explained it’s native to South & Central America and its medicinal purposes. Then to AJ’s monkeys & sloths. We got to hold guinea pigs & macaws, white faced capuchin monkeys climbed all over us and were able to get up close to the sloths but no holding. All of the staff at AJ’s were very friendly & able to answer our questions. Next we took a quick stop at a local grocery store. It was very interesting to see the differences between products sold in a Honduran grocery versus what we are used to in the US. Darbie bought us some unique Gatorade and chip flavors to try! Then to the Roatan Chocolate Factory. We were able to see chocolate being made & try some of the flavors. Everything I tried was delicious! Our last stop was Bananarama Dive & Beach Resort. The food was good but the beach was my favorite part. The water was absolutely beautiful. Darbie not only took us to the desired locations but she taught us SO much about the island: Plant life, things about the culture on the island and took us to the best places. She made sure to get us back to port with plenty of time. It’s obvious she is passionate about what she does. This was our first visit to Roatan, as it was one of the stops on our cruise with MSC. My husband and I have already looked into visiting again. The island is beautiful and everyone was very friendly. Tips: Roatan was not the same time as “ship time”. Make sure you know the correct time when you book any excursion.

5.0 Amazing experience

Pam_C, May 2026

Fabulous tour of the island. This is a private guided tour! Juan Carlos took us to a special spot that we would have never have gotten to experience with a cruise excursion or venturing out on our own. He was born and raised in Roatan and his insight was invaluable. You will not regret booking this tour!!!

Kate_W, May 2026

Had a wonderful time on this excursion. Christian told us alot about the island as we toured it. The sloths were great to visit, although you can bo longer hold them. He took us to a chocolate factory and a run factory where we bought items, even a grocery store so we could get some coffee. Finished off with a beer at the beach. Great day.

5.0 Awesome Trip

Rob_H, April 2026

Great trip with private tour, sloths & monkeys was a great up close experience, visited the rum factory which was awesome plus a great view for some pictures. Had 2.5 hours on the West Bay beach which was amazing, decided to skip the chocolate factory. Our driver/guide Dennest was awesome, nothing was too much trouble. Just book it!

5.0 Highly Recommend- perfect cruise excursion

Blair_P, April 2026

Nick was an absolutely amazing guide- super friendly, kind and informative. We got to hit all the major highlights without feeling rushed.

5.0 5 Star experience of Roatan with tour guide, Christian!!!!

Lana_T, April 2026

We had the absolute best day touring Roatan with Christian! From start to finish, Christian was a wealth of knowledge about the island, and such a nice, fun guy to spend the day with. His van was clean and comfortable, and he knew all of the best places to take us. Our favorite was the sloth and monkey tour he arranged for us at AJ’s. We stopped by a chocolate factory, and then made some great suggestions for ways to spend the rest of the day. We opted for a delicious lunch at the Kimpton resort at their beachside restaurant. Our kids enjoyed swimming in the water after lunch. Christian is truly fantastic and it was one of our favorite days on our 7-day cruise. We highly recommend! Ty, Christian!!!

5.0 Would do it again anytime.

rolandz327, March 2026

Everything super organized. Very friendly driver (Nick), explained a lot about the island and the people. We went to a rum, a cigar and a shock shop factory. The rum and cigar factory, however, were only tasting shops. At the chocolate factory everything was explained to you, you could look into the production room. The chocolates were sold at very high prices. Then we went to a zoo for sloths, monkeys, multipigs. Very interesting and beautiful. The keepers are very careful to make the tours pleasant for the animals. Those who wish can hold macaws themselves. In the monkey enclosure, the animals jump on the humans.

5.0 Great cruise excursion while stopping in Roatan!

Kara_S, March 2026

My husband and I booked this for a day our cruise ship was in port in Roatan. Darby was our guide and she was absolutely amazing! Our first stop was at AJ's where we interacted with guinea pigs, sloths, parrots, and monkeys. Everyone there was great! We then went to a newly opened coffee shop on the top of a hill that had an incredible view. We stopped by a grocery store where Darby explained how various herbs are used as natural remedies in place of medications. She also told us about some of the produce and other products that are unique to Roatan. We went to a chocolate factory that was extremely busy and Darby told the employees that she could start the presentation for them. Eventually one of the workers took over, but Darby was extremely confident in her knowledge and had no problem filling in and telling us (and others that were there) about the cacao beans. It was a rainy day, so we skipped the beach. During the drive, Darby was continuously pointing out different types of trees and sharing stories. You could not ask for a friendlier guide and it was obvious that everyone knows and loves Darby! Everywhere we went, people were so excited to see her and her love for her community was very evident. I would highly recommend booking this tour!

4.0 Beautiful discovery

Genevieve_L, March 2026

Intermittent air conditioning in the car! Distillery a little disappointing... we don't see anything of the process. Only rum for sale...

5.0 10/10 recommend

Konrad_B, March 2026

Darby was just a fantastic tour guide we expected to just see sloths and monkeys and she showed us so much more very personable and funny, my mom loved the fresh coconuts

5.0 Juan Carlos was great!

Dug_K, March 2026

Juan Carlos was absolutely outstanding! We covered probably 70% or more of entire island of Roatan. Even backroad out of the way locations. Could not have been more thorough!

5.0 The best way to experience Roatan

couple_and_the_kids, February 2026

Wonderful adventure day! We saw so many things... we expected sloths, monkeys and butterflies but also saw some beautiful overlooks, a local grocery store, souvenir shops (and gave us advice to make good deals). We saw 2 chocolate shops and many parts of the real life of the island (schools, culture). It was a very full tour. Our only advice is to share in advance the parts most valuable to you. We were just along for the ride and was waiting for a chance to see butterflies. It was late in the day and we began asking about butterflies. To their credit, the tour guide Darby and the very skilled driver quickly made his way across the city and we barely made it (but we did get to see) the butterflies! It was such a great trip. We wish we had brought more cash for tipping (some of the souvenir shops only took cash, there were site guides within the tour (like monkey handler, sloth handler,etc.). So we didn't have as much cash at the end of the day to show the appreciation we felt. We're so glad we took this excursion instead of the large group from the cruise ship. Darby (and the driver) were fun, knowledgeable and their love for their country and culture was evident! Thank you for an unforgettable day!!

5.0 Great trip over a beautiful island with beach stay

Thurid_E, February 2026

There were two of us on the road with our guide Nick. Nick gave us a wonderful day with his cheerful, open-minded nature, provided a lot of information and responded to our wishes. The island is beautiful and very, very clean. We were able to pet sloths and monkeys up close, a short stop at chocolate and rum factories was there and the stay at the beautiful (!!!) West Bay Beach. Loungers and umbrellas would have been available at the on-site restaurant for $15 p.p., but you could also sit at the table and enjoy the beach views during a reasonably priced meal. I would definitely recommend the trip with Nick from Nahomy Tours!

5.0 Book this tour!

Dan_C, February 2026

Perfect Roatan day! Our guide, Nick, was absolutely incredible. He was respectful, friendly, and had answers to all our questions about everything. My wife and I were dripping around in a comfortable, air conditioned van. It was just the two of us; we were not with a group. The sloths and monkeys were a one of a kind experience. We got to get up close and personal with them (and they with us). The rum and chocolate tasting came next. It was super fast and good and we were on our way to the beach. Nick recommended an amazing beachside restaurant for lunch. We had a delicious meal of red snapper, plantains, coconut shrimp, and chips and guacamole. It was a bit more than the $20 the excursion site stated, but totally worth it! We had as much time on the beach as we wanted; Nick was totally flexible in allowing us to return to our ship whenever we were ready. Highly recommend.

5.0 Top excursion

gerke_d, February 2026

A good guide and driver was amazing We have seen the hole island. Nice beaches and entertainment. The orginastion took good care of the animals and especially the slothes. We liked the personal guidens, and the freedom to choose our own time frame.

5.0 Christian met us with a...

Sarah_C, February 2026

Christian met us with a huge smile just outside the port, he was easy to find once we got through the port gates. He was so friendly and wanted to make sure we had the best day exploring all of the best bits of this great island. He checked that we were happy with everything throughout the day. He gave us a few different options to tailor our trip to exactly what we wanted. The sloth sanctuary was great, you get up close to guinea pigs, sloths, parrots and monkeys going in to all of the enclosures, great for adults and kids alike. The chocolate factory, coffee and rum stops were fun and we got some great souvenirs to bring home. Christian was a delight and we feel we have made a new friend, I promise, you won’t find a better host. Nothing was too much trouble and his knowledge of the island was great. The mini van was very luxurious and modern, a very nice surprise. Fab to be our own little group (4) rather than the big cruise organised groups. It’s really nice to support the locals too of course.

5.0 Best day in Roatan

Laurie_B, January 2026

We had a great time with Darby! We were able to see so much of the island. She told us where to get souvenirs and how to make sure we got the best deal, listen when she tells you she can find it cheaper! She even bought me a couple of bottles of clear vanilla from the grocery store. Very down to earth and friendly. This is your adventure, they just make sure you have fun! My daughter and I really enjoyed the zipline! We skipped the beach because of weather but saw so many other things it didn’t even matter!

5.0 Trip with Nick at Roatan

109veronicae, January 2026

It was an amazing experience, we loved every detail and stop of the excursion. Nick was excellent tour guide and very friendly, as was Christian. For next time, we will not hesitate to contact you...100% recommended.

5.0 Highly recommended!

Robert_M, January 2026

Tour guide (Dennis) was waiting just outside the cruise gate ready to go. This tour is perfect for a day trip off the ship, and you get to see all highlights of the island. The locals are all super nice, and the food at Lorettas was fresh and delicious. Highly recommend this tour!

5.0 Great day in Roatan

jalman25, January 2026

We had a great time on this activity and learned a lot about the island. Christian was knowledgeable and friendly, making the day fun. Our favorite parts of the excursion were the monkeys/sloths and hanging out at the beach.

5.0 Amazing experience

Dreamer40174367264, January 2026

5!! Darbie was excellent. She made us feel very welcome and comfortable traveling as a group of 3 women. She listened to what we wanted and took us to the best places for what we were looking to do! She even brought some local snacks that were delicious. She also stayed with us and would keep an eye on us and our things from a distance and checked in occasionally. We had private transportation which was reassuring knowing we can leave whenever we want and knew we would get make it back to our ship on time and she assured us she would not let us miss the ship! Overall I would highly recommend them!

5.0 Great for families

Ian_W, December 2025

Our driver-tour guide Carlos, was great. Brought everywhere and more. Was there to help us with any questions and needs. The Sloths and monkeys were loads of unexpected fun. The beach was great and the location was perfect.

5.0 Best guide I’ve ever had

jorgesC9664EK, December 2025

He showed us the island of Roatán in a way that only someone from here would know and want to experience. Amazing views and information that let us get to know the local life

3.0 Not so great

Gerlinde_A, December 2025

Very basic bus. The guide only reported on local shopping - which I am not interested in as a tourist. No info about the country and people, such as at TUI. The chocolate factory was a joke and only designed for expensive sales, as was the rumcake factory... a waste of time. A stop at a gift shop was also unnecessary. The little zoo with the sloth and monkeys was ok.

5.0 Don’t miss the chance to see the sloths and monkeys!

864barrettr, October 2025

We had a great time touring Roatan and visiting the sloths and monkeys!! They were so fun to interact with and the sanctuary guides were wonderful! Christian was a great tour guide, very pleasant and provided lots of information about the area. The van was clean and comfortable too! I’d love to come back for another trip!!

5.0 Our guide Darbie was...

NEYSA_A, October 2025

Our guide Darbie was awesome. She was knowledgeable and helped us with the kids (we had 4 under 10) in our party. If you are looking to get a cultural experience, this is it!

5.0 Private driver

alexrK4303OC, September 2025

Christian is kind and knowledgeable, and a natural conversationalist. You will part ways as friends. Can’t recommend his services enough!

5.0 Awesome guy! The man you need to know if you are going to Roatan!

vincentlA7780UG, September 2025

Christian was such a great guy. He gives us a five star service bus tour to the monkeys and sloths sanctuary. It was very nice! Monkeys were amazing and very interactive. Christian was very available for us. He let us walk in the West End while keeping our luggage and waits for us before dropping us to the airport. He was right on time and his brand new bus (8-10 passengers) was sharp and clean. This guy knows every places on that island. If you need to go to Roatan, I’ll recommend him anytime. You can trust him!

5.0 Excellent tour! Christian took me and my family, 9 total including two babies. Highly recommended

Explore27998848855, September 2025

Christian took us to my family of 9, with two babies, in a new and very large van, with good humor and very helpful. Open to my suggestions too.

5.0 Excellent service

Antonlo_M, August 2025

Our driver Christian is very friendly and acomodates to all of our needs. Definitely I will recommend tnis company.

5.0 Great Tour

Luis_P, July 2025

Once we got out the port, they were waiting right outside for us. They called the car and we were picked up in our private vehicle within minutes. They took us to the animal sanctuary, chocolate factory, the market and the beach. We were able to tell them where we wanted to go and they helped us everywhere we went. You can tell our local guides are able to get into places regularl people can’t. I’m very happy with our tour with our guides, they made us a homemade cake and had a cooler with drinks and fruit. It was a great experience and would recommend to anyone.

5.0 Great private tour experience!

Lidiany_G, June 2025

We had an amazing experience in Roatan thanks to Darby and Gomez (driver), who made us feel completely at home. Their tour company, Nahomy Tours, is a legit, family-owned business named after Darby’s daughter, and you can really feel the heart they put into everything. They reached out to me before our cruise to confirm the details and make sure we felt taken care of—such a thoughtful touch that made us feel at ease right from the start. During the tour, they were incredibly accommodating, even stopping so we could try local fruit and pick up mango-flavored Gatorade—a flavor not available in the U.S.! Darby even brought one for us ahead of time and made another stop when she saw how much our kids liked it. The tour was fully tailored to what we wanted: a visit to the animal sanctuary to see the sloths and monkeys, followed by some relaxing family time at the beach. Darby also kept a close eye on the time and made sure we got back to the ship with no stress at all. If you’re looking for a warm, trustworthy, and personalized experience in Roatan, Nahomy Tours is absolutely the way to go!

5.0 Quality care

818estebanjavierb, June 2025

Very good experience for the Mangroves, land transport and sea, with lots of responsibility and safety, first class service. Recommended 100%. Few people with the level of professionalism like that of "Nahomy Roatán Tours". Fun, and beautiful scenery of the Island of Roatan.

5.0 Sloth and monkey sanctuary

NorthStar01231795901, May 2025

Cristian picked us up at the Roatan Aggressor dive boat and took us to the Sloth and Monkey sanctuary. Such an amazing visit where we feed sunflower seeds to the birds and Capuchin monkeys. We interacted with the sloths and fed them flowers. Such wonderful creatures. Go, you’ll love it.

5.0 Nahomy Roatan Tours is the best!

jena_k, April 2025

Nahomy Roatan Tours is definitely a must! My husband and I were traveling with another couple on a cruise with Roatan being one of the stops. It was by far the best during our entire trip. Our guide, Skenzor, took great care of us. He drove us to all the popular spots and educated us all on the island culture. Such a great guy!! We felt completely safe having him with us. We ran into Christian (the owner) and his wife while at the beach. Both made the effort to come over and talk with us, even sharing pictures of their family. Great people! I can't say enough nice things about all the people that made our day amazing. We will definitely be back and book again with Nahomy. Absolutely no regrets! Thank you for helping us make great memories.

5.0 Amazing experience

Kristy_N, March 2025

Fabulous excursion. Daphne picked us up just outside the cruise port. Shared lots of info about her home island on the drive. Loved the monkeys and sloths. Side trip to a local grocery store where she showed us around. Fun unexpected side trip. Chocolate factory was great. Finished off a lt a beach where we ate (food not included with the trip) and swam. Highly recommend.

5.0 Worth it!

Martel_S, March 2025

THIS IS THE ONE! Look no further for the best deal and the best excursion in Roatan! We LOVED our visit to this amazing island. I didn't realize that I booked a private tour because the price was so insignificant. I really thought I'd be with a group but it was just me and my wife and our excellent tour guide Cristhian. He will treat you like family. He lives his Christian faith and values. He greeted us promptly and had a very clean van to drive us around the island. He pointed out many interesting things about the island and its culture. The monkeys and sloths were very fun and worth going to see. Then we went to the chocolate factory. Be prepared to buy some delicious chocolate that you can take home to family as souvenirs! We skipped the rum factory but I'm sure that it would have been nice for those who like rum. We could have done the zip line if we had chosen to do that because we drove right by it. It's really up to you what you do during this private tour. He took us to the West Bay Beach where we had a delicious lunch and went swimming in the calm waters. The sand is white and like powder. The barrier reef protects the bay from waves so it's like a swimming pool. We could have come back to the ship earlier but we were having too much fun. I think we spent 6 hours on this excursion. For the little amount you pay, you really should tip big. They deserve it!

5.0 Amazing time with the family!

Rukia_Y, March 2025

We started our day with our private tour guide, Christian! He was so kind and friendly and knew everything there is to know about Belize. The car was big and spacious with AC. We then went to the sloth, monkey, parrot sanctuary and got to play with and hold all the animals! It was an incredible experience as sloths are my fav animal ever! Then we went to a chocolate making factory and you can buy local chocolate. Then the rum cake factory was awesome too. It tasted AMAZING and the view from the rum cake factory is pretty incredible. Then we stopped by beautiful family friendly beach area. Christian our guide, was helpful and kind throughout the whole process and gave tons of recommendations and suggestions. Highly recommend

5.0 Fun tour with the sloths, monkeys and beach

Shannon_R, March 2025

This was the second time we called Cristian with Nahomy Roaton Tours and Transportation to tour us around! He’s fabulous, friendly, great English and filled with lots of knowledge of the area! We had a lovely time visiting the sloths and monkeys, great photo opportunities, we got to hold a sloth and had monkeys jumping in our shoulders, it was fun! Then Cristian took us to a great spot by the beach to swim and have a few cold drinks. The previous tour he showed us all around the town, some shops, cool stores and a beautiful beach area! He’s a fabulous tour guide!

5.0 Awesome little excursion!

maxhees, December 2024

Christian was an awesome driver and very polite. He dropped us off at the Sloth experience which was also really cool. You get to hug the sloth and take pics! Then we walked a few feet to the monkey cage and took some awesome photos with them also. From there, we visited the Macaws. More great pics. Christian was ready to drive us back as soon as we were done. Great time all around!!

5.0 Sloths and Beer

Jed-Connie, December 2024

Friendly guide. Prompt and friendly service. Nice visit to sanctuary and brewery. Good beer selection and a dunk tank!!!

5.0 See the Sloth and Monkeys

812seanr, December 2024

Christian was an excellent guide for our tour and visit to the sloth and monkey sanctuary and the Roatan Island Brewery. He pointed out many features of the island during the drive from place to place

5.0 Great trip out to see the Sloths and Monkeys

JasonM176, November 2024

Had a good trip to the Sloth and Monkey sanctuary. Got the chance to have a sloth hang from us. Also had Monkeys and Macaws some sit on us as the keepers fed them. The monkeys are all recovered from being unwanted or illegal pets. Great place supporting animals.

5.0 Roatan 2024

Iselis B, October 2024

Nahomi Roatán Tours are very responsible and always attentive to our requests and needs. It gave us a magnificent experience in Roatan.

5.0 Carnival Jubilee, day excursion in Roatan Honduras

matthewhN2315AL, October 2024

We stopped in Roatan Honduras during our cruise on the Carnival Jubilee in October 2024. We had an amazing excursion guided by Christian. He picked us up at the port and took us to the sloth and monkey sanctuary. Each member of our family had the opportunity to hold a sloth, capuchin monkeys, and macaws and a picture opportunity with each. The sanctuary also had some other animals as well. Afterward Christian took us to West Bay beach for some swimming and snorkeling. Having Christian as our guide for this day trip made it a stress free and memorable experience for our family. He was both knowledgeable and very accommodating. During our drive to each location he taught us about life on the island, shared interesting facts, and answered any questions we had. Highly recomend Christian and his wife for any guided tours of Roatan. It was an experience we won't forget!!!
