We just came off our 7 day Mardi Gras cruise and I have to say, Isla Roatan was our favorite island to visit!!! The experience Sandris tours provided exceeded our expectations. We cannot say enough about how pleasant, professional and knowledgeable our driver, Malcolm was! He took his time and asked if there was anything else we wanted to see on the island even after we visited the places on our itinerary. The tour itself was private which I didn’t know at first. It offered more of a personalized experience for our family. We went to a restaurant with an amazing view of the island and the food was phenomenal! The best part of our visit was the animal encounters. Edwin enhanced the experience by handling the animals so well while taking pictures for us. We didn’t have to leave our cameras behind and we didn’t have to pay extra for them either. Edwin even made sure that my daughter was safe when we encountered a grumpy baby sloth that took a slow swing at her lol and almost scratched her. They explained that because they are nocturnal animals, they tend to sleep more during the day and can be a little cranky. We felt safe and secure with the tour and I must admit I was nervous booking outside of our cruise, but Luis from Sandris tours made me feel comfortable the moment he sent me a text and provided pics of the company sign and logo. I would definitely recommend this tour to anyone. If anyone books this private tour, Ask for Malcolme (Tour guide/Driver) and Edwin (animal encounter). You won’t be disappointed!!! We booked the Snorkeling / Sloth Park + Beach Break in Roatan tour for 4 people. Upon booking, we were given detailed instructions where to meet our guide (it's a little confusing, so the map helped). I emailed to confirm the trip one week in advance and was answered immediately to confirm - if you've ever dealt with a local tour company, you know that quick replies can be hit or miss, so I appreciated that! Our guide, Chris, was waiting exactly where he was supposed to be, and we walked a short distance to his vehicle - we got a private tour! First stop was the animal park to see the butterflies, monkeys, toucans, sloths, and other animals there. We got to hold monkeys, parrots and toucans, and we had a photo opportunity with their sloth (I only saw one). The park guide was quite interesting and knowledgeable. From there we visited chocolate and rum "factories" (more shops than real manufacturers, actually) before setting our for the beach. There was some confusion about which tour we'd booked; when I confirmed we booked the tour that included snorkeling, our guide pivoted instantly and took us to the snorkel boat, where it was our group of four and one other small group. The snorkeling was fantastic - 45 minutes on the reef where we saw dozens of varieties of beautiful tropical fish and interesting corals. We missed the beach break because of the confusion, but we didn't mind - we had a full morning and were ready to return to the ship by the end of the snorkel trip. We had a GREAT timeand would not hesitate to recommend Sandris - or Chris, our guide. We look forward to seeing you again!

We just got back from our cruise and this excursion that we booked before hand and not with the cruise line was by far the best experience we had while visiting Roatan. Instructions for pick up were clear, they were on time to pick us up and drop us off, our driver/tour guide, Carlos made us feel safe and like family. It was only us with him and it made the experience much more personable. He drove us around to several areas of interest, explaining the culture and life on Roatan. We stopped at a chocolate factory, rum factory, local restaurant, and several points of interest that had beautiful sites to take pictures. The highlight was the animal sanctuary, where we had the opportunity to meet several of the local wildlife, where we were able to pet them, and feed them. All the animals looked healthy and well taken care of, our tour guide there was very informative and passionate about these animals and the sanctuary. We ended the day at a beautiful beach. I would recommend this experience to anyone, I hope to visit Roatan again. Book with confidence!

Fausto our guide was such a gentleman and a delight to talk to. The chocolate factory was a great mid morning snack. The wildlife park was wonderful. We got to hold wild monkeys, kinkajous, and a few types of birds. The place went to for beach access was great. We had access to the pool, change rooms and bathrooms. There was never any rush. West End beach was beautiful. The place we were at had a bar and restaurant right on the beach, but there are many options up and down the beach.

Fausto, our guide, picked us up just outside of port and stayed with us for the entire tour! It was personalized just for us. There was no hurry and he even took pictures for us, all the time! The atvs were so much fun! They said it would be 45 minutes, but it was more like an hour! The staff there were great. The animal park was very natural and lots of interaction with the birds and monkeys! The guides were funny and very informative! The Beach was so Beautiful! Not crowded at all! Fausto found a great restaurant for us. The best fresh fish! The price of this tour with Sandri’s was so much better than the cruise line. Private tour guide that stayed with us provided all the confidence, knowledge and safety that I wanted for my family. My wife and I had a wonderful excursion with Sandris Tours. Our guide, Malcolm, was excellent. When we wanted to skip the rum factory he gladly adjusted. Malcolm also adjusted to my wife’s needs (she needs a wheelchair). We loved the animal preserve. But it was not really handicap accessible. If you require assistance walking it may not be for you.

I can only say that the experience was excellent and exceeded our expectations. Our guide, Malcolm, was knowledgeable, flexible, and considerate. He drove us from the meeting point outside the terminal to the eco park and introduced us to the tour guide. He was waiting for us at the end of the tour and took us to the chocolate factory, explaining the history and sites of Roatan on the route along the way. Malcom answered questions and kept us informed at every point. Our group wanted to move on to the beach and Malcom took us to the club, showed us where to change clothes, get food, and where to sit. At the end, we arrived in plenty of time to the cruise terminal. We really enjoyed the stops on the tour. We especially liked the service provided by this tour operator and its guide, Malcom. We booked the Roatan Private Excursion (Monkey & Sloth, City Tour & Beach Break) and overall had a pretty good experience. The animal encounter was definitely the highlight—getting up close with the monkeys and sloths was a really cool and memorable experience, especially if it’s your first time. Our driver was friendly and easy to work with throughout the day. He was also very flexible and reasonable when we asked for suggestions on where to go or made additional stops, which made the tour feel more personalized and relaxed. Overall, it was a decent excursion and a good way to see different parts of Roatan in one trip.

Highly recommend this tour with Sandris tours. It’s a bit hectic when you come outside the cruise terminal but if you ask any of the tour guides who you’re looking for they’re happy to help. By going on this tour we got a great feel for Roatan. Our guide Tanisha was excellent and we learnt a lot about the island as she was driving us around. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ An Amazing Excursion – 10/10! We’re back to reality in the UK now. We’d give it a definite 10/10! From the start, everything was easy, including finding the collection point. Our guide Gillian was absolutely amazing, so friendly, welcoming, and genuinely proud to show us her beautiful island. She shared so much fascinating history with us, and it was extra special getting to see her hometown of Flowers. The visit to the animal sanctuary was a real highlight. Our guide Osman was brilliant, knowledgeable, engaging, and clearly passionate about the animals. We loved learning more about them. The rum factory was great fun too… although we may have spent a bit too much money there! We were also delighted to discover that the excursion included time at Paradise Resort on West Bay Beach and it was the perfect way to finish the day, relaxing for a few hours after sightseeing. A big thank you as well to Eduardo (Eddie) for driving us around and making everything run so smoothly. It was a truly fabulous day, and we’re so grateful to the whole team for such a memorable experience. Jilly, our guide and Eduardo our driver, was the best of the best!! There were 11 of us in our group. The van was air conditioned and in great condition. Jilly was so knowledgeable and friendly! Eduardo maneuvered around like a pro! We did the monkey/sloth tour, chocolate and rum factories and West Bay beach. We could not have asked for any better!! The young man who was our guide was very knowledgeable and kind. The monkeys were very cute and we got to interact with them very closely. Our family of six took this terrific tour with Jillian and our driver Edward. We ranged from age 93 to 22. Everyone had a great time - especially at the eco-park seeing the sloths, monkeys, birds, and butterflies. We were especially impressed with the knowledge of our guide and the great photos they helped us get with the sloths. Jillian took us past her home village and explained a lot about the island throughout the day. This was an amazing and fun excursion. Our driver Malcome was so kind. He picked us up in a nice air-conditioned van, drove us to see the monkeys/sloths first, before it got too hot and more crowded. We had a great time and our guide was the best! She was very knowledgeable about the area and told us a lot about the history. She has lived there her entire life. She went above and beyond for us to make sure that we had a great experience. Would highly recommend this company and this excursion. One tip would be that if you are in a group, you need to book together at one time under one person's name. We had 6 people in our group, but because we booked individually to pay individually, we were split up into 3 tours. Even though we went to the same places, we were not always together at the same time. There were 2 of us per car. One group skipped part of the tour so that we could be at the beach at the end at the same time. But other than that, it was great!

This tour was not at all what we expected. I wasn’t expecting a personal tour guide, but that’s what made this experience one of a kind. We were assigned Elvis, and he was amazing. Our cruise ship was delayed getting into port by a few minutes, which made us about 20 minutes late for the excursion pickup point just outside of the terminal. They waited for us, and I’m sure they could see that the ship was a little late arriving. All communication leading up to the tour and on the day of the excursion was very quick. Any questions I had were met with a rapid response. Now onto the tour itself. Elvis was hilarious and joked with me and my buddy throughout the entire tour. We started with a stop at a souvenir shop, then made our way to a lookout point on one of the higher parts of the island. You could see out to the water, one of the cruise docks, and the mainland in the distance. Our next stop was the animal park, and that was a blast. We were dropped off while our tour guide waited for the structured tour to take place. There were a lot of tours happening with different guides. We had a great time seeing birds, monkeys, and a sloth. There was also a butterfly exhibit that we were able to walk through. The animal park is on a hill and does require walking down and back up hills, so keep this in mind if you have mobility issues or strollers. We had some parents in our group who had to take it slow going up the hill with their strollers. Next stops were the chocolate factory, the rum factory, and another lookout point. The ice cream bar at the chocolate factory was to die for, and the drink we got at the rum factory was very good. I also picked up a bookmark from the store at the lookout point. We then drove to a beach. We’re from the Florida Gulf side, so we opted to take a quick dip in the water, but we dried off pretty quickly and asked if we could use the rest of the beach time to stop somewhere for local food. Elvis thought of a place near the famous Roatan sign. We stopped there and bought Baleadas, which were very good. After that, we headed back toward the cruise ship. We drove across a big chunk of the island to get to the different locations, and it was nice to see Roatan in all its beauty, not just the waterfront, but also the small towns, the construction workers, and the children walking home from school. I appreciate culture, and this excursion with Elvis gave us that. We had an amazing time joking around and hanging out with him. He answered all of our questions about the island, the culture, the food, and the economy. He didn’t just answer questions, he pointed things out while we were driving and even gave us some insight into his own life. It was such a low-key tour, but it was packed with fun and culture. I’m not sure if all the tours are individual tours with this company, but this was my first one, and it made all the difference for this excursion.

Stop browsing and book with this company! Two couples 30s/40s and a ten year old. We toured with Jilly and Edward. It was such a great time, Im writing my review from the ship before we leave port. 4 time cruiser and this was the first time we tried an excursion outside of Royal Carribean. It was hands down the best excursion we've ever been on. It was an intimate experience where we didn't feel like we were being herded like cattle like many others we have been on. Jilly was the sweetest, thoughtful, and knowledge guide! Edward's driving skills on the crazy Roatan roads was second to none. They helped with the best part of our trip and we are incredibly grateful. They were more than willing to add/subtract time from various elements of our tour which really personalized it. Tanisha was phenomenal. She was so friendly and fun that we forgot she was actually our tour guide and not our best friend. She showed us everything the island had to offer as well as took us on a wonderful tour. At one point my card kept timing out so she paid for my purchase and my best friend gave it back to her when we got in the car. Not many people would do that. Granted it was only $5 but still. We had so much fun with the animals and our snorkeling Adventure was also an awesome time. It was interesting to tour the Chocolate Factory and the rum Factory as well. The BEST tour we've had! Sandri's communicated with us prior to the trip so we were confident they would pick us up and they did! They arrived at the cruise port and were open to a few changes we wanted to make in our schedule. Jillian and Edward (I may have the spelling incorrect.. sorry) were the absolute BEST!!! They got us into each place without us having to deal with a thousand other tourists, they provided so much information on this absolutely beautiful island! They took us to great spots. We had a wonderful day with Jillian, our guide, and Eduardo, our driver. Jillian was extremely knowledgeable about the island and its history, and she was very pleasant throughout the tour. Eduardo was an amazing driver — he is could easily rival some New York City cab drivers! We were traveling with a mobility scooter, and both Jillian and Eduardo went above and beyond to accommodate us. Everything that was promised on the itinerary was accomplished, and the tour itself was absolutely worth it. There is one issue to be aware of if you are docking from a Princess or Carnival ship. Because we were traveling with a mobility scooter and others who have difficulty walking long distances, we specifically asked about the walking distance. We were told it would be 3–5 minutes. While that was accurate to reach the taxi area, once there we were informed that we would need to either take another cab or walk up a very steep hill to reach the tour van. We took a cab, as there was no way the scooter — or the rest of us — could manage the hill. In the end, it wasn’t a major problem, and the tour was well worth it. I just wish we had been told in advance that an additional taxi ride would be required.

Outstanding! Fausto, our guide, knows everything about the island, including the best places to visit. He taught us about the local area and introduced us to fruits new to us. We loved the rum tasting and our time swimming in the crystal clear water. We swam with lots of fish - no snorkel gear needed for great viewing. Yeifre at the Wildlife Refuge hit it out of the park. The butterfly details alone were amazing, and the monkey and macaw experiences won’t be forgotten. Excellent day in Roatan!

Our tour driver was at the pier waiting for us when we got off the ship. I cannot praise Malcom Steward enough for providing a wonderful tour filled with information about Honduras. We toured a wildlife sanctuary where we held monkeys, macaws and petted a sloth. We then went to a chocolate factory and a rum factory where we sampled the goods😊 After that we went to the beach and had local drinks. It was an awesome tour.

Our driver Angie was so sweet and kind. She provided an umbrella as the weather was very wet. We didn’t make it to the beach by our choice as the weather wasn’t cooperating. Angie was willing to do things at our pace. The animal sanctuary is very small but still fun. The chocolate factory is really just a store with a sample but the ice cream bars for purchase were fantastic. The rum tasting had excellent cake.

We loved seeing the moneys and sloths. We thought we were going to the Maya Eden Eco park as the details stated but were brought to a different location. The chocolate and rum stops were not great. We then were supposed to go to a beach. Our guide offered to bring us to a beach where we had to pay $20 per person. We said we wanted to go where it was included in the excursion and then were brought to another beach which was fun. Just be sure to be clear about where you want to go. Overall we enjoyed the day and our guide was nice but we felt a little taken advantage of going to different places than we expected.

5.0 A grand tour!

We thoroughly enjoyed our private tour. Our driver was Stephanie and our guide was Rolando. They were both wonderful, friendly and professional. The tour never felt rushed as we were allowed ample time to see things at each stop. We stopped at a souvenir shop, then to the animal park where we had up close and personal encounters with beautiful birds, monkeys and a sloth. We got lots of great pictures. Then onto the chocolate factory- don't miss the ice cream bars! Fabulous! Then the rum factory for a tasting. All the while we toured the island. We skipped the beach stop , by our request, so I cannot review that part. I do want to point out that if you are considering this tour and have any mobility issues there is some walking involved, for example, the walk from the ship (at the Mahogany Bay Pier) it is only about a 5-6 minute walk to the exit, which is the taxi area. That is not the area where you meet the driver. You then have to walk up a staircase and out to the street. This is due to security that is established around the perimeter of the ship. The additional walk was challenging for my spouse who has some mobility issues. We were able to grab a taxi to the meeting place (2.00). When you return after the tour you are brought back to the taxi area. There is also some walking over rough terrain (unpaved, roots) at the animal park. If you have no mobility problems it's a piece of cake. But keep the above in mind if you do. We definitely recommend this tour. It was wonderful.
