Viator half day excursion from Flamenco marina to Gamboa.I would recommend arriving 20 minutes early if you want to have an outdoor seat on the first part of the tour. The guide was informative and easily took all questions. Both breakfast and lunch were served but within two hours of each other. The experience of traveling the canal and the locks probably best done in this manner. Price point was moderately steep for the length of the excursion.

During the trip at I Max location was an alarming incident and we need to evacuate the venue area, they manage to continue but with a delay but our guide allowed extra time and we ended perfectly the trip .

Our guide, Joaquin, was amazing. I think having a guide for this expertise is an absolute must. If you're an American, you just can't drive here. You really need a local who knows the area perfectly. Firstly Gabriel sent a text the day before to confirm pick up time. He was on schedule and the tour began the second I sat in the car. We hit the Miraflores Locks saw two ships pass through, watched the IMAX film and he drove me in time to the Pedro Miguel Locks to see the same two ships go through then it was up to the American bridge. We got spectacular photos of the canal the ships the locks the impressive skyline. Gabriel was patient and kind even had water and fruit for me.
He gave me a good history lesson of the Canal which was reinforced by the movie.
All in all Gabriel was a fantastic tour guide!

This was a wonderful tour. We were treated really well and our guide, Thomas, was extremely knowledgeable and accommodating. We saw so much and learned so much and he answered all our questions with ease. The van was quite comfortable for 6 adults, ages 65+. It was a great time. Highly recommend.

Visiting the Panama Canal has been on my bucket list for many years. I booked this tour online through Mario and from start to finish the process was seamless. My daughter and I enjoyed a fabulous private 1/2-day tour and Julio was our amazing tour guide. He arrived early, he is an excellent communicator and he made us feel like we were family. The amount of history he shared throughout the entire tour was perfect. Through Julio, we also had front of the line treatment at the Canal. There we were introduced to Javier and he too made us feel like family. He even gave us a shout-out on the microphone as we awaited the ships passage through the Canal as we watched on from the observation grandstand. As a result of our experience with this amazing team at VIP Tours, I highly recommend this tour and I will definitely book through them the next time we are in Panama.

Due to successful experiences with Viator in the past, we decided to do the Panama Canal Tour: Miraflores Locks and Canal Zone while on our visit to Panama. Our tour guide, Julio, was friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful during our tour. We were able to watch a ship navigate its way through the locks, watching the workings of the canal during its trip there. We learned much about the history of the building of the canal as well as Panama's history. We would highly recommend this tour for anyone.

We really enjoyed this private tour and we learned a lot. It is nice to be with a local to see some areas outside of downtown. Mario is outstanding! I had a wonderful tour of the Panama Canal. I ended up being the only person on the tour which was great because it was personalized. Tour guide Mario was great and very knowledgeable. I recommend this tour because it includes more than the Miraflores Locks that most people go to. I got to see the same ships proceed through the Pedro Locks and the Bridge of America.

My wife and I did a day-long tour of the Canal Zone and Miraflores locks and were very happy with the experience. Mario was an extremely knowledgeable and gracious guide. He had great energy and answered so many questions we had about Panamanian culture and history, in general. He arranged the tour of the Miraflores locks exceptionally well. We never had to wait in any long lines, and he had specific information of when each boat was about to enter the locks. We had as much time as we wanted to explore the Miraflores locks, and we could watch as many boats as we wanted go through. In fact, we never felt rushed at any point in our tour. Mario is a very smart, thoughtful, knowledgeable, hard-working, and trustworthy guide. We felt totally safe in his hands at all times. Definitely recommended, and we would definitely take other tours run by him in the future.

Mario was a fantastic guide! He is knowledgeable, personable, friendly, and engaged. He picked us up at our hotel in Casco Viejo a bit before 10am and we returned at 5:30 pm. It was a private tour so we got to ask unlimited questions, learn about the history of panama and the canal, and see sites not included in group tours. We had a Wonderful time and I highly recommend Mario and this private tour!!!

Javier and Mario are the best! We felt like family during our tours. We actually did two tours with Cositas de Panama (city tour and panama canal tour) and can't recommend them enough. Very flexible, very knowledgeable, very friendly, very prompt. I don't think anyone knows more than Javier about the canal. They timed our visit perfectly for Miraflores and Pedro Miquel locks so that we got to see boats go through both locks. We got birds eye view of the canal from two bridges. We learned so much! We feel we really got to know Panama City and the canal. It was everything we hoped and more!
