This was one of the best private tours we’ve ever done. Our tour guide Dianko was so knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. He catered and adjusted the tour to suit our interests and needs. I cannot recommend him and this tour highly enough. He was flexible and we were even able to start the tour slightly earlier when our flight arrived & we made it through customs much sooner than expected. Dianko continued to offer advice and support to us even after the tour was finished via WhatsApp which was extremely kind and thoughtful of him. We saw everything there was to see including a few sloths! (As he knew we were excited about seeing them and found a spot they were hanging out in for us). This was worthwhil, very well organised and I highly recommend the tour and Dianko!

Excellent experience. Picked us up at the Hotel a young woman named Ariadne, extremely friendly, very professional and very knowledgeable of her area. Car in very good condition and very clean, good air conditioning and very cozy. The tour was timely and very wide, the young woman is one of those people who then talk to her a little bit and you feel like you know her for a long time. In the end he made suggestions for shopping, meals and more places to visit. Alfonso was an amazing guide! He showed us the best photo ops, took us to some beautiful places in the Old City, and got us to the Panama Canal just in time for no waiting to see the Imax show and following we got a front row seat as s cargo ship and a cruise liner pass through the locks. We hit quite a bit of traffic on the way back so he rolled down the window and grabbed us a snack since due to shopping, we ran out of time to eat (our own fault entirely). Would absolutely book a tour guided by him again.

Pickup details needs better communication. We set 8:30am pickup. Driver said 8am, but didn’t arrive until after 9am. Yersel, our tour guide, was great - courteous, professional and knowledgeable. We needed all 6 hours. I might just do Uber to the Canal and Old Town. Could have spent all day in Old Town. But then you don’t get the same tour guide.

This was an amazing tour. Our guide Ivan was so knowledgeable and personable. He did everything we asked of him. He took us to the former Fort Clayton so my wife could see her old home and the chapel where her father worked. We learned much about Panamanian history and the history of the canal zone. We had Graziano as our guide. He was so professional and very friendly. He was so knowledgeable about Panama and took us to old town and the new parts of the city. We really leanrt the history and dun stuff throughout our tour. He took our group pictures and was mindful of the heat and adjusted the locations accordingly. I had a rather unpleasant experience as I was not informed that my tour guide would be significantly delayed. I had to contact a Viator representative myself, as I was waiting at the designated meeting point at 9:00 AM, and no one was present. It was not until 9:45 AM that I was able to speak with someone who informed me of the delay, stating that the guide would arrive after 11:00 AM. This seemed quite unprofessional, especially since there was an itinerary that I believed we would be following. I had specifically requested that Casco Viejo be the last stop, as we were staying in that area. Not only was the guide late, but he also kept sending me his location, expecting me to walk to him due to some street closures. I struggled to find him and, out of frustration, decided to send him my location instead. This resulted in a pick-up time of 11:45 AM, rather than the scheduled 9:00 AM. I have generally had positive experiences with Viator, but this particular tour left me feeling quite dissatisfied, and I am uncertain if I will be using Viator's services again in the near future.

I will first say, our tour guide, Alfonso, was lovely and friendly. However, even though he tried, his English was not very good (he was learning). The one amazing part of the day was when Alfonso found out my children loved sloths, and he pulled over on the side of the road and showed us 4 sloths in a tree. It was really cool, and the highlight of the trip for my kids. However, this private tour cost a LOT of money, and was definitely not worth it. We felt like cattle, being shuttled from place to place for a photo op. Everything was rushed, we had no time to explore or look around us. We would have loved to spend more time in the colonial square, Casio Viejo. There was dancing and music and beautiful buildings. So much culture and architecture, but we didn't get much of a chance to actually enjoy it. All told, we probably spent an hour there, going to a textiles museum (which was beautiful), and a chocolate shop (expensive but interesting), and then taken back to the van for our next photo op. We were 15 min late for the Panama Canal IMAX, which was the ONLY information we got about the Panama Canal. $17 pp for a 45 min IMAX (which we missed 15 minutes of) and we didn't get a chance to see the museum or look at the gift shop. The MAIN REASON most people come to Panama is to see the history of the Panama Canal, which is such an important part of world trade, world commerce, and an architectural marvel...and we spent an hour watching a boat go through one of the locks, which was interesting but also...pretty disappointing. In this case, the tour guide was pretty useless. The whole family (4 adults, 2 children) was heartbroken that we didn't get more out of seeing the Panama Canal. It seemed like a photo op, nothing more. We did not see the Bridge of Americas, Amador Causeway, and although we did go to a market, it was only because we asked, and again, we felt rushed. We were picked up at 9am, and around noon, started asking our guide to stop for lunch, as the kids were getting hungry. We made it clear, both in the original booking AND multiple times during the day, that food would be difficult as we have vegetarians, and gluten free/dairy free allergies to deal with. He finally pulled over at a GAS STATION at 4pm after we asked a 5th or 6th time, and 2 of our party couldn't eat anything, and the 2 kids ate hot dogs without a bun...This was not okay, or appropriate. We spent a lot of money to visit Panama from Canada, because we are interested in the Panama Canal, the culture of Panama, the history, the indigenous and environmental impacts, etc. We chose a private tour because we were hoping for an individualized tour and a guide who would be able to discuss these topics. Everyone of us came home frustrated and disappointed. I found out more about the Panama Canal from a 1 hour podcast than I did from a $1300 8 hour tour.

However the tour said it included water, he only provides one bottle water for a six hour tour which i find to be not so good can aleast have more water to offer. otherwise we enjoy the tour and history lesson.

There were four of us travelling with Alfonso today. Dear Alfonso thank you for the wonderful day . We saw everything we wanted and even made a short stop at the Harley Dealer 🏍️😎. Great photos and wonderful memories we take home . Just perfect 👌. We have to deduct one star for the booking process . We paid an additional 150 dollars for the transfer from Colon to Panama City. This was not recognizable from our reservation and has taken some correspondence and nerves.

Ivan promptly picked us up at our hotel just outside Panama City, in Playa Bonita. He reviewed the itinerary at pick up and also said he was open to suggestion or any changes that we wished. He took us to the canal and toured the important sites within many areas of Panama City. He was extremely friendly and knowledgeable. We had suffered minor spine injuries on a boat tour in Costa Rica a couple days before & he was so patient & accomodating to us, always offering to go get the car & pick us up when we had walked a bit. We had a fantastic day. We got to see old and new Panama. When we went to the Church of San Jose' with the gold altar he told us to go downstairs and we were shocked. There is a detailed nativity scene that is AMAZING! Our driver knew so much and had the perfect spots for photo opts! We watched a barge be navigated to the locks. He provided us with snacks and water in an air-conditioned van. The only issue is which port to be picked up at. I had sent several messages to the host and even cut and pasted our port information from the cruise line and they still went to the wrong port to pick us up at. We lost about an hour of our tour. We had no issue contacting them and were is steady conversation while handling the change. Not sure how to avoid this but it was a great tour despite this inconvenience.
