⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5+ Stars for Emmanuel and Roatan Tucan Adventures! Our family of four (two adults and two teens) visited Roatan in June while sailing on Royal Caribbean, and we booked a private island tour through Roatan Tucan Adventures. We can confidently give Emmanuel a 10/10 and 5+ stars! Since this was our first visit to Roatan, we weren't entirely sure what to expect. After reading so many positive reviews about Roatan Tucan Adventures, we were hoping for a great experience—and Emmanuel exceeded every expectation. The company's instructions were clear and easy to follow. Shortly after docking, we left the ship and found the company representatives within minutes of exiting the port. They escorted us to their group area and introduced us to Emmanuel, our guide for the day. From the very beginning, it was obvious that Emmanuel knew the island well. He led us to his vehicle, a comfortable 4-door Hyundai, and immediately took us on back roads to avoid the heavy traffic from the two cruise ships in port that day. It definitely pays to have a local guide who knows the shortcuts! Our first stop was the Monkeys, Tucans, and Sloths wildlife sanctuary. Thanks to Emmanuel's timing and route, we arrived before the crowds and were only the second family there. That made for an amazing experience with virtually no waiting and plenty of one-on-one interaction with the wildlife guide. The monkeys were definitely our family's favorite! The sanctuary guide was incredibly knowledgeable, and it was clear he genuinely loved both his job and the animals. While we toured the sanctuary, Emmanuel patiently waited for us. When we finished, he happily took family photos for us and even joined us in a couple of pictures. By this point, he felt less like a tour guide and more like a friend showing us around his island. As we were leaving, the crowds were just beginning to arrive—another win thanks to Emmanuel's local knowledge. Next, we headed toward West Bay Beach, where we planned to spend the afternoon. On the way, Emmanuel surprised us with an unplanned stop at a local chocolate factory. He wanted us to experience some of Roatan's locally made chocolate and sample a few treats. It was a wonderful bonus that we never would have experienced on our own. When we arrived at the beach resort, it was obvious once again that getting there early was a huge advantage. Emmanuel walked us directly to the check-in desk, where it was clear he had great relationships with the staff. Everything was seamless. He then arranged for a golf cart to take us to the beach and personally helped us secure four shaded beach chairs. He even had them cleaned off before we settled in. Emmanuel also shared valuable tips about the area, including who to purchase from, who to avoid, and where my daughter could get her hair braided. His advice made us feel comfortable and helped us make the most of our time there. One of the highlights of our day was snorkeling. Emmanuel coordinated everything for us, and our snorkeling guide was absolutely incredible. He stayed with us the entire time, helping us feel safe and comfortable while pointing out marine life we would have otherwise missed. He would even dive down to the ocean floor to show us fish and sea creatures hidden below. It was truly an unforgettable experience. Throughout the day, Emmanuel continued to go above and beyond. While we were enjoying the beach and snorkeling, he remained at the resort waiting until we were ready to leave. At one point, he bought our family a bag of freshly cut mangoes from a local vendor so we could try them. He also showed the kids Honduran currency and gifted them some to take home as souvenirs. On our drive back to the ship, he made one final stop at the famous Roatan sign so he could take family photos for us. It was yet another thoughtful gesture that made our day even more special. By the end of the tour, my husband commented that he wished he had brought more cash because we simply weren't expecting this level of service. Emmanuel's kindness, professionalism, knowledge, and genuine care made our visit unforgettable. We exchanged contact information with him, and if we ever return to Roatan, he will absolutely be the first person we contact. Thank you, Emmanuel, for helping create some of our favorite vacation memories. You are truly a gem, and we highly recommend both you and Roatan Tucan Adventures to anyone visiting Roatan. A few tips for anyone considering this adventure: • Get off the ship as early as possible. Emmanuel's local knowledge allowed us to beat the crowds at every stop, especially at the wildlife sanctuary and West Bay Beach. Arriving early made a huge difference in our overall experience. • Ask questions! One of the best parts of our day was learning about Roatan, its history, culture, and local way of life. Emmanuel was happy to answer every question we had, and many of the extra experiences we enjoyed came simply from our curiosity and conversations with him. • Bring more cash than you think you'll need. Between tips, local vendors, souvenirs, food, and unexpected opportunities, you'll be glad you have it. We actually wished we had brought more by the end of the day. • If you're planning a beach break, be aware that food and drinks at the resort can be pricey. Consider bringing a few snacks from the ship if allowed, especially if you're traveling with kids or teens. • If you want a more authentic local dining experience, ask Emmanuel for recommendations. He mentioned a local spot he would have happily taken us to for lunch, but we ended up enjoying the beach so much that we stayed longer than planned. If you're fortunate enough to have him as your guide, you're in for a fantastic day.

A fantastic excursion. We stopped at Roatan on a cruise, and our guide picked us up at the port and then provided a fantastic private tour of the island. The snorkeling was amazing--I've never seen anything like it. Then, the tour guide got us back to the port well in advance of departure. Highly recommend and will do again if we visit the island in the future.

We had a great visit in Roatan! Our driver, Elda, took great care of us from the time we met her off the boat. She was our private driver for the four of us. Our first stop was the wildlife adventure park. Danny took us through to meet the monkeys, parrots, toucan, and sloths. Neat experience up close and personal! The excursion was tailored to our requests, so we made a stop at the chocolate store. Then off to the beach, where we had chairs and pool access waiting. Our snorkel adventure on the boat with our guide Brian was memorable. He made sure to get us right above the reef and point out some interesting fish. Then Elda helped us get the photo stop we wanted and dropped us off back at the port. Overall great experience!!

We absolutely loved our experience, David was so kind and so attentive. He made sure our experience ran smoothly and made sure we made it on time back to our cruise. This tour was a perfect balance of experience and relaxation. Focusing on the animal encounter and snorkeling at the beach club, we were able to pace ourselves and never feel rushed. Our tour came with a private driver, Ivan, who was a great host. He provided us with some background on the area and took care of our family every step of the way, finding beach chairs and organizing service for food and drink. Ivan ensured we managed our time wisely and got us back to the Port with ample time to still wander a few shops before boarding our ship. We were very fortunate to have Garlon as our driver. We enjoyed learning about the island and he helped make the experience really nice. My mid level review is not aimed at him at all, he was really great and personable. I would tour with him again with no question. The wildlife experience was amazing and would give it 10/10 stars. Loved the monkeys, birds and sloths. Tour guides there were nice. Bring extra tips for that part of trip! Enjoyed the drive around the area with Garlon. The private beach was not great at all, incredibly packed and did not look like picture. The listing mentioned reserved chairs and we did not get that, ours were gone after snorkeling. We were unable to find any chairs together for a family of 5. The snorkeling itself was really nice but no fins were given and there was nowhere safe to leave our bags so we had to bring them on boat with us where they got soaked. We asked to go back to ship early given the disappointing experience of the beach stop. Again Garlon was incredibly wonderful and accommodated our early exit.

We booked this tour through TripAdvisor and it was such a wonderful day. It was a completely private tour and our tour guide, Cynthia, stayed with us the entire day. We asked to be paired with our family friends we were traveling with. That was accommodated no problem. I can not begin to tell you what a great job Cynthia did taking care of us every step of the way. She gets 10/5 stars! Don’t hesitate to book this. It’s a little bit of everything - animals, beach, sightseeing, and snorkeling. We couldn’t have asked for a better day. My only advice is to read the directions carefully about finding them outside the cruise ship gates. There are a lot of vendors with similar names. Their instructions are very clear though.

Well the wildlife park was a lot of fun..a small place but the experience with the animals up close was incredible. The snorkeling was amazing and we drifted across the reef and saw lots of beautiful fish and a stunning coral reef. Then off to the last stop for the day . We were supposed to go to a place called West Bay beach and place called Henry Mogan Resort ...however we're taken to Bradys Caye which we were a bit confused about. as there was a restaurant there and chairs ..we thought this must be West Bay ..we are not the locals so we wouldnt have known ..looking at the reservation after confirmed we were not in the place we booked ....We had no idea they had taken us to the wrong place. Our guide was Teshara and she was fabulous..felt like a friend to us. She even stopped at a chocolate making place on the way back . I dont know how they messed up our excursion. And they didnt reply when I sent the message about the issue.

Our first stop was the wildlife sanctuary, and it was such a highlight. Irwin was our guide there and he was fantastic—especially with our kids. On the way to the beach, Emilio went above and beyond by offering to stop at a local chocolate shop and rum distillery. The snorkeling portion was semi-private (just our family and a couple of others), which kept it feeling intimate and not overcrowded. This was such a great excursion from start to finish. We were picked up right at the cruise terminal, and Cynthia was our driver and guide - she was wonderful and made everything feel easy and organized. You do have to get through the crowd outside of the terminal, but Cynthia had a sign and was waiting for us. Our first stop was the wildlife sanctuary, which ended up being a highlight. We saw sloths, including a mom with her one-month-old baby, plus iguanas, parrots, and even a peacock. We also got to hold and feed monkeys, which was so fun. Our guide there, Michael, did an awesome job and made the experience really engaging. After that, Cynthia took us to a beach resort where we had lounge chairs set up. Our little one loved playing in the water, and it was a perfect spot to relax. When it was time to snorkel, Cynthia made sure we were ready and pointed us to the boat. The snorkeling was fantastic. Our guide got in the water with us and pointed out all kinds of marine life, including fish and even a sea snake. It made the experience so much better having someone show us what to look for. We had some more time to enjoy the beach afterward, got changed, and Cynthia brought us back to the cruise terminal right on time. Overall, everything was smooth, fun, and really well coordinated. We loved this tour and absolutely loved Alfredo, our guide. First of all, he was friendly and out going and made you feel comfortable right away. We were a group of 5- ages 9,43,44,47,79. Alfredo was easy to find in the crowd of guides waiting for their groups from the cruise port. We started with the animal sanctuary and we were able to have monkeys and birds on us! Very fun for all ages and we were there before the crowds. Then we went to a West Bay Beach club,again before the large crowds, and got great chairs on the beach! We took a boat from there to a reef of the shore about 5 min down the beach with 4 other people and swam and snorkeled about 45 min. It was nice and we saw a stingray! Then we went back to the beach club for a bit and decided we wanted to get a good lunch. Alfredo brought us to a delicious restaurant with great views. The food was amazing- jerk chicken and grouper sandwich! Very delicious and the waiter was also very friendly and nice! Then we went through town back to the cruise ship and Alfredo told us all about the history and what we were driving past. A great day and GREAT guide! Honestly, way better than booking through the cruise as it's private and it actually costs less!!!!!! So, highly recommend and don't be scared to book excursions yourself rather than booking through the ship, they will get you back in time!!!

While it took a while to find our guide (Viator did not list the tour company name, so we had to work hard to find him), the tour turned out great. Joey, our guide, is native to Roatan, and he helped us understand the history, economy, education system, etc. He first took us to the Wildlife Preserve, which was fun. Hands-on experience with capuchin monkeys, sloths, and macaws. It's startling when the monkeys first jump on your shoulders, but they are gentle and friendly. We then went to the beach for an hour of offshore snorkeling (beautiful coral and colorful fish; like swimming in an aquarium). Then we spent some time on the beautiful beach. When we were ready, Joey was ready to take us back. It's nice that it was a private tour and we could leave whenever we felt ready. After 4.5 hours, we were ready to head back to the cruise ship for lunch. Roatan is lush and beautiful.

Jeimi was at the port exit. We walked to a parking lot where a clean air conditioned van drove us to our first stop, the Mayan Jungle Animal Sanctuary. We were not rushed, the guide took his time for great photos. The law passed last year does not allow for sloth hugging, anything we got to observe them. Our next stop was at Henry Morgan’s beach resort. Jeimi instructed us to great chairs without locals soliciting us, safe to leave our belongings while snorkeling, and a place to change clothes. This was my second time snorkeling here and the boat had a ladder, shade, fish food, and the guide fixed my broken snorkel clip. He was genuinely involved in making sure we all felt safe and had an amazing experience. Jeimi was kind enough to allow us to stop for coffee with an amazing mountain view. I saw a rum ship across the way and asked if I could run over there. Best shopping: rum cake, rum and chocolate flavored cigars. Jeimi was the best. Please request her, you will be happy.

We literally had the BEST time on this tour with our family (my husband, our 8-year-old, and our 4-year-old)! If you’re looking at the reviews and thinking “There’s no way it’s really this good…” — trust me, it absolutely is. This is a perfect snorkeling experience for beginners and kids. Our 8 yo did amazing and loved it! Our 4 yo decided snorkeling wasn’t for her, but that was totally fine- she happily stayed on the boat and hung out with the captain. Tip: If you have your own snorkeling gear, bring it. A couple of people (including my son and another dad) had some water getting into their goggles and had to go back to the boat to adjust them. Our guide Emmanuel was FANTASTIC. If you can request him, DO IT. He took us to see animals, the beach, and shared so much about Roatan, more like a personal tour guide that was a local. Make sure you ask questions! Roatan is absolutely beautiful and fascinating, and he was great at explaining things. At the animal sanctuary, Wayne was incredible. If you can request him too, definitely try! He made the experience so fun and memorable. Have your cameras ready because there are so many moments you won’t want to miss. The animal sanctuary was a guided tour with others we didn’t know and he said snorkeling could be the same. The beach was super crowded. We elected to not snorkle so I don’t know. 5.0 Take Me Back To Roatan!!

We went on a seven-day cruise with Carnival and booked this excursion through TripAdvisor. It was our favorite of the seven days! Alfredo was our guide for the day and he was absolutely fantastic. He ONLY took the five of us in our family and was essentially with us all day. He was very knowledgeable about the island and spoke good English. He even bought us one of the famous cinnamon buns while we were shopping at West End. What guide does that?! He first took us up to a scenic overlook (could see the Honduras mainland in the distance), then he took us to the animal sanctuary, which was AWESOME! Then he took us to the breach at West Bay, which was AWESOME! (Make sure you get a Monkey La La drink!) He helped get us set up to go out snorkeling, which was AWESOME! We spent some time at the beach and then he took us to a local restaurant that he recommended - Mutton Pepper. (He hung out at the bar while we ate.) We told him we wanted to do some shopping, but not get gouged by the touristy areas at the pier. So he brought us to a place we could shop. He even gave us a behind-the-scenes tour of a coffee shop that he used to work at, where they roasted their own beans. It was so, so good! Thank you, Alfredo!

5.0 An Unforgettable Roatán Experience – Ask for Diana!

We booked the Roatán Private Snorkeling, Wildlife Park, and West Bay Beach excursion through TripAdvisor, and it was hands down one of the best excursions we’ve ever taken—and we’ve done dozens over the years. From the moment we stepped off the ship, everything was seamless and first-class. The private transfer made a huge difference, and our driver and guide, Diana, truly made the entire experience unforgettable. She went above and beyond to make sure every detail was taken care of. Diana was incredibly sweet, knowledgeable, and genuinely passionate about her home. She shared so much about Roatán, making the day feel personal and authentic—not just another tour. We honestly felt pampered the entire time. The wildlife park was a great start to the day, getting up close with sloths (even a new born), monkeys, and macaws was a fun and unique experience. From there, West Bay Beach was absolutely stunning with soft white sand, crystal-clear water, and a relaxing atmosphere. The included beach setup with chairs, showers, and access to the resort made it easy to just sit back and enjoy. The snorkeling was another highlight just based on the beautiful coral reef, vibrant marine life, and a well-guided experience that made it enjoyable for all levels. What really set this excursion apart, though, was the exceptional service. Every single employee from Roatan Tucan Adventures was warm, friendly, and welcoming. We literally had the BEST time on this tour with our family (my husband, our 8-year-old, and our 4-year-old)! If you’re looking at the reviews and thinking “There’s no way it’s really this good…” — trust me, it absolutely is. This is a perfect snorkeling experience for beginners and kids. Our 8 yo did amazing and loved it! Our 4 yo decided snorkeling wasn’t for her, but that was totally fine- she happily stayed on the boat and hung out with the captain. Tip: If you have your own snorkeling gear, bring it. A couple of people (including my son and another dad) had some water getting into their goggles and had to go back to the boat to adjust them. Our guide Emmanuel was FANTASTIC. If you can request him, DO IT. He took us to see animals, the beach, and shared so much about Roatan, more like a personal tour guide that was a local. Make sure you ask questions! Roatan is absolutely beautiful and fascinating, and he was great at explaining things. At the animal sanctuary, Wayne was incredible. If you can request him too, definitely try! He made the experience so fun and memorable. Have your cameras ready because there are so many moments you won’t want to miss. I truly cannot say enough good things about this tour. If you’re traveling with kids, this is an absolute must do! BOOK IT and request Emmanuel, you won’t regret it! 5.0 A fun way to see unique parts of Roatan

Totally the way to go. Be sure to review the directions provided in the listing on TripAdvisor to get to your driver--they won't be on your booking, so save the trip advisor listing to reference it once you get off your ship. Our drive Jeremiah spoke excellent English, and even made a couple short stops for us to get some minor purchases. The animal sanctuary was fun--direct interactions with white-faced capuchin monkeys and with macaws, and up close with (though not touching, to protect the animals) with several three-toed sloths. There were other monkeys, birds, and other animals we got to see up close as well. After the sanctuary, we were taken to a beautiful beach resort, where we had access to the beach, a restaurant on the beach, and the pool. A massive starfish (at least 15" in diameter) was found under water by my Wife, and after she and a bunch of kids on the beach all got interested, there was even a short impromptu lesson by one of the diving instructors about the starfish. Plenty of sun or shade, whichever you prefer, and the food at the restaurant was great. Even the pool was very nice, and they had restrooms, showers, and changing facilities on site. All in all, a great way to see great things on the island and a faction of the cost of a ship-approved excursion.

When we got off the ship we located our guide, Cynthia who took us to her nice van and transported us throughout the island. She was so kind and informative. She explained about local life and it was very comfortable being with her. She took us to the animal sanctuary where we enjoyed the animals and then to the beach club. She helped us get settled there where we got lounge chairs in the shade. While there we did a snorkeling expedition with a small boat and captain who was kind, fed the fish to get them to come towards us, and led us around the breathtaking reef! Following that we relaxed in our chairs, the kids swam in the beach and pool, we ordered drinks and food from the restaurant. There are many people at the resort including persistent vendors, but you can navigate past them if you’re not interested. When time was up, Cynthia got us back to the ship with plenty of time to spare. We thoroughly enjoyed her and the day on this gorgeous island! You won’t regret booking with Tucan tours!

Our day in Roatan was absolutely incredible from start to finish. The moment we got off the cruise ship and began looking for our tour operator, everyone we encountered was extremely helpful in guiding us in the right direction. Once we met our guide, Kevin, he welcomed us and walked us a short distance to a comfortable, air conditioned van. As we drove, Kevin shared interesting facts and stories about his beautiful island, which made the ride enjoyable and informative. Our first stop was the animal sanctuary where we got to see macaws, capuchin monkeys, and the highlight of the visit, the sloths. It was such a fun experience, especially for our kids. While we were inside the sanctuary, Kevin waited for us and made sure everything stayed on schedule. After that, Kevin drove us to the Henry Morgan Beach Club where we were set up with comfortable beach loungers under a covered area. We relaxed on the beach while Kevin checked on the snorkeling boat for us. Once it was ready, we took a very short boat ride out to the reef. The snorkeling there was absolutely beautiful and peaceful, with clear water and vibrant marine life. When we finished snorkeling, we were brought back to the beach club where we spent more time enjoying the beach. We ordered food there and it was extremely delicious. Throughout the day Kevin made sure we were well taken care of and kept an eye on the time so we would get back to the ship without any stress. My 6 and 8 year old really wanted to stop at a souvenir shop, so Kevin kindly took us to a nice shop that was not overpriced so we could look around. He also made a stop at a gas station and treated us to a traditional Roatan grab and go breakfast called a baleada. It was basically like a breakfast burrito and it was incredibly delicious. He even covered our drinks and the kids’ candy bars while we were there. Before heading back to the port, Kevin made sure to stop at the Roatan sign so we could take some pictures. It was the perfect final stop to remember such a great day. Kevin truly went above and beyond to make our experience special. Roatan is a gorgeous island, and Kevin’s kindness and attention made the day even better. The entire experience was a 10 out of 10, and we will absolutely request Kevin again the next time we visit.

we had an AMAZING guide Tania. oh boi she was a special gift, sh picked us up, a family of four and took on our tour. she suggested the view point, the highest peak in the island to take pictures then we went on to see the monkeys and sloths and went snorkeling. we want some coffee and she stopped at a good spot for us to try and buy coffee. after the beach we wanted some local food and she took us to a great spot. The food was delicious. Along the way she educated us about the country and people. She was just the best and promptly took us back to the ship. We are so thankful and grateful we had the pleasure of meeting you. You made our time in Rotan memorable.

The Roatan Private Snorkeling, Wildlife Park, and West Bay Beach was a great excursion with a variety of activities. The tour guide, Kenrick Woods was outstanding and made our trip so fun. He was also very knowledgeable and accommodating. What a great tour and day we had.
