We enjoyed our county and city safari tour in Dominican Republic. We got to learn about some of the culture in the Dominican Republic. Our tour guide, Rudy, was very entertaining and friendly. He knew a great deal about his country and natives. We got to see some interesting things in the open air truck. It was big warm when stopped but even the car was moving it was comfortable. Learning how coffee and chocolate was made was most interesting. Lunch was nice with a selection of warm foods. My feedback would be to avoid the sales pitch of the goods at the plantation. They really can sale themselves through samples. That could have been 45 min for another stop.

Our experience was great from the beginning. Our tour guide and our driver, Angel and Adolfo respectively, were attentive, respectful, and very informative. They really did a great job on the presentation of the Dominican Culture. The Admission fee is very much worth.

The best part of traveling is enjoying the culture. This tour definitely checks that box. However, Angel (guide) and Adolfo (driver) really made this tour shine. Driving here is pretty intense and Adolfo made it seem easy and got us everywhere on time. Angel was very knowledgeable of our surroundings and made the trip that much more enjoyable. His jokes and laughter kept the group entertained and we would highly recommend them and this tour. Definite five star rating!

Did horse back riding. Went to the church in Higuey. Had lunch and went to Maria's house. We ended our tour by going to the beach. Adodo was very knowledgeable. He shared insight on the history and demonstrated some of apparatus used to extract the juice from the sugar cane and to make coffee, coconut oil and coco beans.

Superb experience with the best guide, Emilio! We learned a lot about the lifestyle of the Republicans! Very enriching excursion! Horseback riding, visiting the cathedral, learning how to make quality cigars, visiting Maria's house (coffee, cocoa), and stopping at the beautiful Macao beach! Definitely worth doing again!

Reasonable Price for everything you get! I got transportation to and from my hotel I got to try lots of things with baldy! I got a free cigar, Got to try raw sugar cane juice cocoa beans. So many things I dont think id get the opportunity to try and learned lots of history and fun facts I look forward to going home and telling my family about. As a solo traveler im also glad they offered to photograph alot of my experience since it can be difficult to document on your own sometimes. Thanks baldy for make my first time to punta cana memorable

It was the best tour we’ve ever participated in! Our guide and driver, George and Angel, were the most amazing people on this island! They were super kind, funny and thoughtful. We recommend this tour to everyone to see the real coutry outside of the resorts walls. It’s completely safe, all food and bevarages are included and the experiences were unique. You’ll have the opportunity to buy souvenirs from local farmers. It’s best to support the locals this way, as everything purchased within the resort walls go to the resort owners (who are NOT Domenican!). Your guides will make your day truly unforgettable! Runners Adventure is well established family run business with activities all over the Dominican Republic. They offer good value for money well organised trips and ours was no exception. We booked the trip online via their website on the morning of our visit, you can be collected by bus or drive yourself there, which we did. It’s easy to find and the Safari park is clean and tidy, the staff are great, friendly and welcoming and cater for all needs. There’s lockers available to store your belongings but they do charge for a padlock around $5 so you could bring your own lock to help with this. You can’t take any bags or having any food, medication or creams on you when entering the monkey enclosure as they will take it. Phones and sunglasses are fine. The monkeys are adorable, they climb all over you whilst the staff feed them and hand out cut up fruit. You are also given a dish with food to feed them yourself. This is a great photo opportunity as they sit on your head and shoulders. The monkeys are well kept and well loved. They currently have around 69 monkeys which have all been successfully bread within the safari program. After the hour with the monkeys we were given a buffet style lunch, the food on offer was great from pasta, salad, chicken both fried and curried and hot and old drinks on tap. We had no complaints the food was well presented and tasted lovely. It’s also a nice time to meet other fellow travellers. Once lunch was finished we made our way down to the Buggy ATV area for a quick safety brief and where then all assigned a buggy. The Buggies are brilliant and you head off on a tour around the park and local village before venturing into the woods off road. This was great fun and a real highlight of our holiday. When you return you have a trip to the shop to see all the local produce and products made at the safari, you can taste the coffee and chocolate and have the chance to purchase some of them. Overall a great experience and a full day trip, highly recommended.

This is an excellent way to see the real Dominican Republic. There is a wide variety of activities that we did. I especially enjoyed the church and the horses. Our tour guide Amond was one of the best guides we have ever had along with a really good driver Edison. Highly recommend.

The most fantastic tour. From start to finish, the tour was packed with fun and I learned so much about the Dominican Republic in one day. Amado our tour guide was delightful, full of knowledge, very caring and attentive to all attendees, and overall gave us a great day out. I have done a lot of tours in different countries and this is one of the best I’ve done. I couldn’t recommend this enough!

3.0 Fast Paced Tour - Maybe Too Long From Cap Cana

There was actually a lot to like about this tour. The staff were incredible and really care about giving you a quality experience. A couple of things to note. Taking this tour from Cap Cana resulted in an additional 2 hours of travel to participate. Amstar framed this as an 8 hour tour with 1.5 hours of vehicle time. Leaving the relaxing comfort of our resort, we embarked on a 10 hour mad dash with most of it being in the vehicle. By the time we returned, we were hot, tired, anxious, and unhappy with the experience. All of the stops were pretty great, the interp was good, they were just trying to fit way too much into the day. We could’ve done without the 20 minute horseback loop and the 25 minute stop at a trash covered beach where overpriced chotchskis, exotic animal photos, and alcohol were pushed on us. Driving around and seeing the culture and the way DR people live was incredible. The food served at lunch was delicious and a welcome reprieve from the activity/gift shop hustles in the rest of the itinerary. If they cut this tour in half and focused just on food and culture, it would be a home run. Last thing. I see they advertise infants participate for free on this tour. Do not bring your infant on this experience. The roads are chaos.

This was the most fabulous trip. Very well educated tour guides. The country side here is beautiful. Nothing short of amazing. I couldn’t have asked for a better day !! We got to see how a “typical” Dominican lived, and their beautiful landscapes on our journey. It was a full 8 hr day, and worth every second of it. Drove through the city (sorry, can’t remember names of places) but the whole tour was just FANTASTIC. Highly recommend this !!
